Should Floyd be fed to the wolves or should he fight a B-class fighter

    He beat Floyd.

    Ask Holyfield.

Manny threw more punches, landed more punches, threw the harder punchers, and hurt Floyd on multiple occasions.

Pac looked untouched and Floyd looked beat up after the fight.

Floyd's Dad thought Floyd lost the fight. He knew Floyd wasn't doing anything.

Just because some blind, imbecile punch trackers, and blind imbecile judges said he won, doesn't mean he actually won.

If Floyd actually won that fight, I would give him credit.

    But **** him.

    He lost.

I'm not giving him credit for something he doesn't deserve.

    In the US?

    I don't know.

I think Khan has a better stylistic match up than Garcia. Khan throws a lot of punches and could actually steal the fight, but they won't let him win unless he knocks Floyd out.

You can't beat Floyd unless you knock him out.

    It's bull****.

No, no. I was talking overall appeal, not US. Khan is only really known in England.

And I completely forgot...that fight won't happen for a much more important reason. Al Haymon, lol. You see how much Haymon protects Garcia. He isn't going to feed Garcia to Mayweather. He'll keep them two separate. He won't cash out on Garcia yet.

I'll be honest, the only interesting fights for Floyd are Cotto and GGG.

I wouldn't pay for Khan or Garcia or Thurman or anyone else.

I wouldn't mind seeing Mayweather vs Kirkland or Porter, but those fights won't happen.

At the end of the day, I'm sick of boxing's corruption and I'm tired of seeing Floyd running scared with a touch and go, riskless, style.

Cotto is by far the most well known opponent out of the Khan/Garcia/Thurman/Brook/GGG group. BY FAR. Not even a contest. Cotto is the #4 draw on his own in the US outside after Floyd, Manny, and Canelo.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you haven't been following boxing or its ebs and flows to understand how this works. People complain after every Floyd PPV, and every time they come back, nothing has stopped the Floyd PPV train. Hatton was a way bigger star than Khan and that fight didn't hit a million PPV buys. Hispanic and American fighters will always sell better in the states because they are better represented here.

    Floyd/DLH: 2.4M
    Floyd/Hatton: 920K
    Floyd/JMM: 1.06M
    Floyd/SSM: 1.4M
    Floyd/Ortiz: 1.25M
    Floyd/Cotto: 1.5M
    Floyd/Guerrero: 1M
    Floyd/Canelo 2.2M
    Floyd/Maidana I: 900K
    Floyd/Maidana II: 925K

And for the record, when it comes to the low Maidana numbers, there are only 200,000 Argentines living in the US compared to almost 5 million Puerto Ricans.

He would absolutely cash out on Garcia. Haymon is not a factor in that fight being made or not, he will happily put 2 of his guys in there. The reasons a Garcia fight would not be made are these 3... Losing to Floyd does not damage your PPV appeal. It's the safest fight to take in the world. Huge payday, low chance of taking much punishment, nobody will fault you if you lose.

    Cotto rematch
    Canelo rematch
    Pac rematch

Welp. those two aren't happening lol. I can tell you that you will see a Pacquiao rematch, but that's down the road. Right now, possibly Khan...and that's all I could see Floyd wanting. I'm really curious to know if he'll fight an opponent if he knows the PPV will do bad because that's the scenario he's looking at. The upcoming months will be very interesting.

Khan definitely has a better stylistic matchup.

But Garcia would sell more US PPVs.

    Two undefeated records...

Mayweather is about to retire so Al Haymon is going to want to keep the cash flowing in, so protecting fighters who could take his place. Garcia is obviously one of those stars he's trying to build up, but if he loses Garcia's undefeated record to Floyd, Garcia becomes less of an appeal (especially since Mayweather will make him look COMPLETELY amateur) and then Haymon also loses Mayweather soon after.

    It's not a good financial move :/

You are simply wrong. Fighting Floyd is always a great career move.

You make a lot of money, you raise your profile beyond your wildest dreams, you are unlikely to get badly hurt, absolutely nobody will fault you if you lose. It's the safest play in boxing. Losing 9-3 to Floyd would make Danny twice the star he is right now sitting on his fabricated undefeated record.

Do you think Canelo's career is in a better or worse place now than it was before he got schooled by Floyd? Twice as many people know who he is now.

Correlation doesn't imply causation, so just because Canelo career has done better after Floyd doesn't mean Garcia's will. He could turn out like Guerrero, Ortiz.

Garcia is low risk but too low reward, and I'm not saying Khan isn't. Really everyone will be considered low reward after that Pacquiao fight.

I kind of feel this is a pointless argument though because I'm pretty sure he won't choose Garcia.
