The Last I checked the sport is called boxing. To hit and not be hit. This is for the DKSAB (don't know **** about boxing) crowd. Not sluggling, brawling, club fighting but the sport is called Boxing :bbb:good

A large part of a "fight" is being able to neutralize your opponent so they don't hurt you. If you don't get that, lord help you.

The fact people don't see the brilliance Floyd displayed by completely neutering Pacquiao, is beyond me. Manny could not do a thing for about 90% of that bout. If they didn't have gloves (and assuming no hand injuries) those jabs would have been ****ing Manny up. That right hand might have laid him out in the 1st ****ing round. You guys are blind.

Floyd could have fought 50 rounds with the way that fight was going. Manny would have been finished. Just saying.... If you don't think that's getting worked over, I can't help you. Yea it wasn't "eye popping domination" but it was domination none-the-less. Manny was reduced to nothing and expended a lot of energy hitting air, arms, and gloves. Missed 81% of his punches, and it appears, threw his shoulder out/injured himself from missing so much.

I understand the whole "it wasn't that entertaining," and I would agree overall. There has certainly been much more exciting boxing matches. But if anybody thought it was going to come even close to living up to the hype, I'd have to say they are very naive.

The only thing that was guaranteed in this fight was a Mayweather victory. Like myself and many others stated before the fight. Entertainment was a maybe. I said from the get go the fight would lack drama because Mayweather would cruise to a UD win. I still can't believe so many people thought Manny would win. Unbelievable. Hype Job/Mismatch of the Century IMO.

Im down with the sweet science tag and hitting without being hit but all this talk like boxing is synonymous with hitting and not being hit is an illusion that gets perpetuated by practitioners and fans of defensive styles.

Boxing is about two warriors fighting with their fists in the most effective way they can to attain victory. THATS IT  This idea theres a slogan that epitomizes what boxing is 'truly' about by favoring some style is bs. If winning by slaughtering your opponents works best for you, then THATS what boxing is about. If winning by pot shotting and counterpunching works best for you, then thats what its about.

Yes, it is about hitting and not getting hit.
But if a fighter doesn't do much hitting, what's so great about that ??

I don't want to see boxing reduced to winning a round with a single punch thrown/landed, against 0 punches landed.
That's what some people seem to be advocating when they defend their favourite practioners of "sweet science".

Clearly Hussleman doesn't even like boxing nevermind Not knowing **** about it. If we had a sport full of amateur point scorers it would be extremely dull. If you don't like sluggers, swarmers, pressure fighters, boxer/punchers aswell as stick and movers, youre only enjoying 10% of the sport.

Pro boxing is about two men getting paid to fight and their styles can be whatever they want and they can box anyway they feel

Nobody is saying there is a superior style. But the aim is always the same - hit and don't get hit. The person who hits the other person more times and gets hit less is boxing better than the other. Simple as that.

How hard you throw your punches and how you make sure they don't hit you (by moving, ducking, dodging or by throwing punches yourself) is where the styles come in - but they aren't what decides the fight, only how effective that style is in landing/not getting hit.

Yes, there is no prescribed actual style to boxing, but I think the styles and techniques that have evolved through hundread years of history that improve the fighter's chances of winning a boxing match is an integral part of the sport and has become synonymous with it.

Hit and stand there to get hit is worse than amateur boxing. It's called street fighting. That's what we have tuf man contests for. Kimbo Slice is a star.

A lot of people seem to think a come forward brawler/swarmer isnt a skill set well it is and some use a defense like head movement or hands held hight or reflexes. Brawlers are not just guys that swing non stop and use their head for defense though there are those that do that too

So, should the venues take place on grass where the spectators stand behind a rope and clap on queue as well...you know, like in golf?

    I mean, since we're talking about boring-ass so-called sports n' all...
