I agree to an extent. But here we have a known vs unknown, and people will bring up resume. People always bring up resume to try and argue one fighter over another. And does resume play a huge part? Absolutely. Theres nothing wrong with that (though for me resume comes more into play when ranking fighters historically) But *when assessing a known quantity (abraham ) vs an unknown quantity (G)* resume is just one of a group of assesments made that determine a fighters value and level. If one cant put resume aside when discussing a fighter whos still rising in opposition level and who hasnt had a cieling yet, and arent able to translate what you see in the ring into its proper value instead of just going by who theyve fought... then ultimately youre somewhat stuck in boxrec world without the ability to properly gauge fighters independent of their resume. (This almost always only applies when discussing known vs unknown and young vs old ) Me i like to win (or lose lol) money on knowing who the better fighters are, i like that knowledge and true understanding of this sport shows itself in ones ability to discern fighters, styles, and matchups, and thus better predict outcomes of those matchups, especially in a sport that relies on illusions n hype. and i can tell you that if you went into most matchups between the known and unknown quantities, and old vs young matchups, and just went with who had a slightly better resume at that point without seeing with your own eyes the disparity in quality of skills and attributes, then you wont make much money on this sport. For me Abraham is more than a level below G... in practically every facet of their game. Will that translate into reality? (G having a greater career) Time will tell. All that being said I think G moving up in weight when he makes 160 with relative ease is a big mistake and while I think hes much better than Abraham I think he could wind up with a similar fate should he move up.
Abraham hits harder and is a bit bigger (thus probably stronger), only advantage.. advantages he has over Golovkin.
I think Golovkin is bit more versatile than Abraham, he's just a better boxer, Abraham is very one dimensional.

And their one common opponent, GGG stopped with one punch. Not saying it's much, but it's arguable Golovkin would go through Abraham's resume at MW no problem. Anyone who compares the two is just looking for something. And always remember, resumes win fights, not punches.
