These guys would rather have each round split into minute and a half displays of shadow boxing from each fighter it seems. Just judge them on that. You're all wanna be elitists. There are sluggers and swarmers at the top levels as well morons. They didn't get there by being bad boxers.

I'm watching one of Julio Cesar De La Cruz's fights, and he has pretty long arms for a guy who's only 5'5.

The OP has just described amateur boxing.

The sweet science is just a cute nickname it pick up many years ago. It means nothing.
Just like footbul (soccer) is called "The beautiful game". Just a cute nickname.

It's called footbul, not goals...but goals wins games...PERIOD!!!

Just like its not called "Hit"...but hitting wins fights..The "not be hit" part does not.

Are you sure that's the same fighter?

Oh, his full name is Julio Cesar la Cruz Peraza.

It should be called Chins because that is all that really matters. If you can't take a punch you are not going very far.

If he goes pro, he'd probably win a title or two, but he'd never be a star.

Cuban fighters, to be perfectly honest, aren't very exciting. You can see that with Lara, Rigondeaux, and Abril.

If fighters are winning world title fights 9 rounds to 3, or 10 rounds to 2 or better, and their opponents are leaving the ring not even looking like they've been in a fight ..... surely there's something wrong with that picture ?!

Floyd Mayweather Jr has to be looked at as one of the most gifted boxers ever. His skills are immense and he is guna retire with an outstanding record and career, in fine shape and not the least bit punch drunk. Aswell as being rich as hell.

But he has some fukking nerve to call himself a prize fighter, he boxes but he does not fight. And he has many times.

Probably because "fighter" and "boxer" are often used interchangeably.

Like, boxers are often referred to as "fighters".

I don't mind hit and not get hit til the hit part becomes so marginalized

There's a big difference between boxing smart and refusing to take risks or make a fight out of it
