If he feels he can handle the extra weight, then by all means, he should fight at a higher weight class. If he feels that he can handle the drain to 154lb, then by all means, he should fight with whoever is willing at that weight. He IS a natural middleweight if I ever saw one, though, and if he could get the fights that matter at that weight then, imho, he should chisel his legacy out at that weight.

GGG will only have more power when he doesn't have to drop down to 160 24 hrs before a fight. Listen to all the big guys that spar him when he is weighing 175 mid-camp.
Golovkin is the best thing that's happened to boxing in a long time. I'm a fan and would love to see him clear out SMW. But fighting Ward right now is a pipe dream, Ward is fighting Paul Smith - PAul eff'ing Smith!! a guy that isn't even a top 30 ranked opponent!!! Golovkin had a sizeable following here way before his first fight in the US, when he was a virtual unknown, that's a very definition of a hardcore fan
Most of them at that time put Him in the prospect department with a lot of potential, that means they are fans of him like me but in the other side harcore fans only love Him because of His exiting style and His punching power (The exact same aura of Jeff Lacy) and do not know anything about His boxing skills, IQ and weakness, or fighters that could give Him Hell. Those dumb fans are the same as casual fans that put Him on the level of God the same as Pac fans when Pac was on His peak.
