I don't know. There are so many great fighters throughout history.

I talked to a boxing historian about 6 months ago and he said he places Pac around 20 all time.

He explained to me his power, speed, stamina and heart were simply incredible from 122-130.

Ledwaba, Morales, Barrera, Marquez were all prime fighters and three of them were ATG's. He beat them all except for losing to Morales 115-113.

Then he went up out his natural weight class and faced 27 year old Cotto and destroyed him. Then he beat Bradley the top 140 pounder in the world and naturally bigger than Manny. These accomplishments alone are incredible, but it's his work at the lower weight classes that is truly incredible.

Yes Pac is a truly great fighter.

I can assure you. Back in 2003 when Pacquiao fought Barrera there was this feeling of "is this really happening right now".

    Just sublime.

I can't rank Pac higher than Mayweather but that's just me. We all have our own opinions.

Not doubt that's good win. But it's doesn't stack up historically to what others have done.

    Chicanito isn't an ATG fighter.

I encourage everybody to watch round 3 of Barrera Pacquiao. Watch when Pac drops him with a 1-2. Look at Barrera's face and his look. He's like "What the F**K is this? What do I do with this." I've never seen such a great fighter (at their best) ever be reduced to that look since that.

Champions in the first half of the 20th century routinely drew the “color line” … refusing to defend their titles against black fighters.

There were always reasons. White champs like Sullivan, Corbett, Jeffries, Dempsey and Tunney all believed they shouldn’t defend against black contenders because it would upset fans or lead to race riots. Even black champions, like Jack Johnson, felt there wasn’t real money in defending against another black man when he could make more fighting white boxers. There was even a long discussion in the “classic” forum about why Joe Louis only defended against two black challengers in his 25 defenses of the title.

Over the past nine years (nearly a decade), Floyd Mayweather has become the biggest fighter in boxing. During that time, he's also only faced one black challenger – Shane Mosley, who rocked him to his core before losing a wide decision.

(The fight sold well, with roughly 1.4 million pay-per-view buys.)

Now that Pacquiao is out of the way, there has been talk of Cotto wanting a rematch with Floyd, and Canelo seeking a second chance at him. A 42-year-old Marquez is also pursuing a rematch. Yet all of them have been there before and didn’t appear to do anything to warrant rematches.

Amir Khan wants a shot he felt was denied to him when Mayweather chose to fight Maidana twice. But Khan lost the last two title fights he competed in, getting knocked out by Danny Garcia and losing to Lamont Peterson.

Danny Garcia seemed like he was poised to get a crack at Mayweather, after beating Khan and dominating Lucas Matthysse, but he’s since struggled with the likes of Mauricio Herrera and (again) Peterson.

All things being equal, the most logical contenders for Floyd’s next fight – none of whom have faced him before – are all black fighters.

At welterweight, the fellow champs are Kell Brook and Keith Thurman. The best fighter without a belt is Tim Bradley (who is fighting Jessie Vargas next). Top contenders include Shawn Porter and Adrien Broner (who are facing each other next). At super welterweight, there is the undefeated Demetrius Andrade and Jermell Charlo. At super lightweight, there’s Terence Crawford (the Ring Fighter of the Year) and Lamont Peterson.

Yet, the chances of a black fighter getting a shot at Floyd next seem slim to none.

Has Floyd Mayweather drawn the color line when it comes to black challengers?

Mayweather has drawn the quality line

He doesn't take dangerous challengers of any color

    He doesn't discriminate ha ha

nah.....barerra is like no.8-9 best fighter from mexico and depending who u talk too, isnt an ATG.. he arguably lost 2 to morales, lost twice to junior jones, lost twice to pacquaio, lost JMM, lost to khan..... his signature wins are erik morales whos not even top 10 fighter from mexico in many experts eyes, and a overated naseem hamed....

Tapia and ayala were blown up fws so barera cant get full credit for those wins..

Chicanito beat, ATG azumah Nelson, jorge paez, he beat a young carlos hernandez, fough. De la hoya at a higer weight and was virtually unbeaten at 130....Floyd with only 18 fights took it to Genaro and took his title.....Thats his signature win, and "Many boxing historians" would agree...Youre over hyping barerra a lil too much because pacquaio beat him..

If floyd had beat MAB you would dismiss it as a decent win, and if pac had beat hernandez it would be that "Pac has beaten ATG GENaro"... i know how pac fans twist things around here..

Tell me about how good Hearns was at MW.

Tell me how many guys Hagler fought that were heavier then him by 15-20 lbs.

Floyd closed the book on his Pac rivalry.

Floyd is better then all 3 guys.
