Source :*********** Kovalev, who defends his titles against mandatory challenger Nadjib Mohammedi on July 25th, is very interested in facing Ward. "I think right now it's early to speak about Andre Ward, because right now he's still not at light heavy. When he comes up to 175, then we'll have a reason to speak about our fight. But for me, I think it's going to be a very important fight and a very interesting fight. You know, because he's a very great boxer, he's an Olympic champion," Kovalev told ******** "He fought against our best champion of the world, Evgeny Makarenko, who was in the Olympic games. He won [against] our guy in Olympic games. [Makarenko] was our best in Russia. Big respect to Andre Ward, but I'm waiting to see if he will come to 175 to welcome [him]." Hopefully we get this in the next year or so !!:bbb WAR SOG WAR THE KRUSHER !
Kovalev should be careful what he wishes for. If Andre was that bit bigger I wouldn't question his chances to overhaul Kovalev by decision. interesting fight.
Yeah, cause they don't lead to Superman that's for sure. Jay-Z and Haymon will never partner up for a fight, so no Ward-Stevenson. Ever. I could see Ward fighting DeGale on HBO in the Fall, provided DeGale loses to Dirrell. If he wins, it won't be Ward right away... and Dirrell is not fighting Ward either way. Ward will need an HBO fight vs top 10 guy, probably at the full LHW limit, to set the stage for a Kovalev fight.
Stevenson is still the LHW champion. That can't be taken from him until he loses. Sergey is the best at the weight class however IMHO.
House Stark - Winter is coming House KO4clev - We await all House Ward - We do not change weight divisions
About damn time! All the s hit GGG gets for failing to move up and face Ward should be thrown right back at Ward for failing to move up and fight Kovalev. Ward has already cleaned out 168, what is he waiting for? To take on smaller and unranked opposition at 168 (GGG)? If you're a Ward fan/GGG hater and can't see this double standard, you need to put the bong down.
