I don't think Marciano beats any of those guys.

But Moore got flattened four times, beaten up and knocked out by the stumpy little slugger, so I doubt he'd do any better.

    That's the point.

Moore wasn't better than Marciano and Moore (whatever skills he had) couldn't beat the very best heavyweights in his own day. So he wasn't going to beat them when they got bigger and stronger and more skilled, either.

If I had to choose who would do better out of those two (Marciano or Moore) against the heavyweights who came later, I'll take the guy who beat better heavyweights and who won the head-to-head matchup between them.

Calm down Friend, I've already said I don't think either of them do very well . Who does best isn't really that important to me because I don't think either of them would make any waves.

Exactly which fighter would you expect to do well against that list of opponents?

He would have an outstanding chance against Ali, Frazier, Holmes, and Holyfield for stylistic reasons.

You're missing the point yet again,[its getting to be a habit] Doublechin decribed Marciano as beating ATG heavyweights.
I challenged this by saying Marciano never beat a great heavyweight and further more he only fought ONE ,and he HAD been a great heavyweight but was not when Marciano fought him.

    Get it now?:patsch

Since you are so phobic about following my posts, Iv'e no doubt you saw my request to you to provide the 19, 200lbs plus heavyweights that you say.Archie Moore kod.

    Will you now do so?:think

    McVey

Marciano did beat a great heavyweight. jersey Joe Walcott in the first fight, That was a great heavyweight.

Secondly I challenge you to name me heavyweights outside of Louis Frazier foreman and Ali who actually beat great heavyweights?

200lb counts McVea. If the difference between 200 and 201 is that extreme for you then this conversation is over.

Howard king weighed 200lb when he was knocked out by Archie Moore in 1 round

Archie Moore knocked out 19 men weighing at/above 200lb. fact. Deal with it

You made the rules I just followed them now you have altered them to suit by adding AT/ABOVE 200lbs

Even if we counted 200lbs you don't have 19 men ,so stop with Bull Sh*t.
Christ you included 3 wrestlers who had never had gloves on WTF are you on?:patsch How desperate are you going to get?:-(

I stated neither of them would do any good. So what is your point? Marciano would look better in defeat?

    What stylistic reasons?

The guy was slow of hand and foot, in comparison to aLL those guys you have listed. All have chins as good if not better, in fact far better because they were constantly getting hit by bigger, harder punching men than him. All have height and reach advantages as well as weight.

Marciano's style was easier to read than an Enid Blyton fairytale. Crouch low, come up swinging desperately, off balance, whilst taking punishment in the process. Rinse and repeat.

You have been told dozens of times, and by numerous, posters Marciano is to be admired for what he achieved, under the circumstances. But to assume he could achieve the same results if he was transposed into later era's is frankly nonsensical.

I don't think you are being fair at all. If he can have wrestlers he should also be allowed circus strongmen. I sense discrimination here.:rofl

If we count 200 he definitely has 19 men. Do the math. Look at his record.

Actually Marciano had a very difficult style to figure out otherwise all time great master boxers would've figured him out much easier
