:good It is the most inexact of sciences, but it's damn fun.

I laugh when people write off ATGs without studying them closely because it's easier to remember what you just saw. :thumbsup

However true that may be, most of them aren't on the top 10 ATGs list!!! :deal

Floyd will be a top 10 ATG when he retires, it's inevitable. It'll happen.

Well that's highly debatable. I happen to think a majority of the top 10 is made up of pre WW2 guys.

We'll just agree to disagree. Most of the people on my top 10 ATG list happen to be fighters who fought in the late 40's/50's/60's. :deal

No, it wouldn't. Good thing none of my ATGs have that record.

No, I haven't seen them lol.

And Pac****s don't really bother me because they don't even pretend to be rational. They're nationalistic and they don't even care.

What bothers me are Fl0mos...they come off as if they think they know things that people who aren't Fl0mos don't know just because their guy is a skill-based fighter. And they tend to measure greatness in terms of earnings, which is weird.

TOP FIVE (The order can vary but they all remain top 5 and Greb remains #1)
    Greb
    Langford
    Fitzsimmons
    SRR
    Armstrong
NUMBERS 6-15 (Hard to put in order, but all belong in that range)
    Wilde
    Charles
    Duran
    B. Leonard
    Pep
    Louis
    Ali
    Tunney
    Moore
    Walker
NUMBERS 16-30 (Again, I don't really try to put them in order)
    Ross
    Gans
    Monzon
    Loughran
    T. Gibbons
    McFarland
    Walcott
    Whitaker
    JCC
    Hagler
    Hearns
    SRL
    Ketchel
    Hopkins
    Arguello

Here are some names I've seen credibly listed in the top 50 ahead of Mayweather:
    Dixon
    McGovern
    Canzoneri
    McLarnin
    Saddler
    Burley
    H. Williams
    Conn
    M. Spinks
    Jofre
    I. Williams
    Britton
    Griffith
    Gavilan
    Napoles
    Bivins

I think there are very strong arguments for placing Mayweather in the top 50. Personally, I have Hopkins, RJJ, ODLH, and Pacquiao ahead of him from this era alone.

I only have strong opinions on the top 5. I can roughly place the top 25-30ish. I wouldn't object to Mayweather being placed in the top 40 or 50, but any better than that would take a lot of justification.
