fwiw, I put Mayweather in the class of boxers whose importance to the sport of boxing greatly outweighs their actual greatness. Guys in that list would be Ali, Tyson, Johnson, Dempsey, Sullivan, etc.

I also put him in a class with guys like Ketchel, Tyson, Sanchez, Marciano, Lopez, JCC, Pep, and Calzaghe. All those guys may have been MUCH greater than they proved themselves to be.

I again class him with Dempsey, Johnson, SRR, SRL, and some others who lose status in my rankings for flagrant ducking or other behavior that doesn't fit the archetype of a fearless fighter.
In ATG ranking we can only go off of what we know.

 

^i don't understand who Floyd ducked, really. That list consists of Margarito during a fleeting window and I don't know who else.
