I think most were surprised by the way he had Pac fight Floyd. 5 freaking years and you think they would know how to fight him

This. Was that the game plan? Or did Floyd's punch got Manny scared of getting KO'd like his last JMM fight? Manny did not look injured, but that definitely wasn't hiw Manny normally fights. What was Roach's gameplan? Honest question..

His game-plan was to push floyd to the ropes. Floyd figured this out pretty early on. I thought myself if maidana can do it manny could. I was wrong. To me the plan was for manny to catch Mayweather circling out to his left or right with a hook, turns out Mayweathers chin held up very well.

I believe that the gameplan was to win a round at a time, make his shots counts, rather than trying to get Floyd out of there and apply pressure the same level of pressure that Pac can no longer do at his age. Definitely more output than what we saw, but Pac countered Floyd beautifully, made Floyd miss BADLY throughout the fight, and won. Floyd was in survival mode after he tasted Pac's power.

    Well,

initially, i thought 'wtf' was Pac thinking? but after re-watching the fight and tuning out the ridiculously biased commentary, the fight was close. Floyd didn't really outland Pacquiao with any 'real' punches (setting aside punches that missed or were gentle taps). Pac also made Floyd look somewhat inadequate. Floyd missed more than usual, Floyd barely landed any good punches and fact is, it was far from a dominating performance.

So, the strategy wasn't terrible. I think what Roach probably got wrong, were the following things:

    1. Floyd moved better than Roach anticipated. Pac had no clear advantage in footwork
    2. Roach prob thought floyd was going be a bit more aggressive
    3. Roach underestimated the aura Floyd has and the fact that judges are NOT going to award Floyd his first loss UNLESS opponent DECISEVELY WINS ROUNDS

So Roach/Pac succeeded in making fight close (cause it was) but failed to consider that most close rounds will go to Floyd. This was a major tactical error because Roach should very well know that Floyd isn't going to lose many rounds unless opponent CLEARLY wins them. Close rounds will go to floyd 80% of the time, at least.

Roach's strategy should've been to dominate, not to 'box' and edge Floyd.

no more taking selfies... hmmm no more saying Floyd legs are gone and Manny was going to knock him out... no more saying Manny was in the BEST shape of his career (shoulder not mentioned)... Manny has the killer instinct back....

Etc.......... Freddie is done too... he can't gave the fact he can't beat Floyd Sr as a trainer either....

    Farhood 118-110, Lederman 117-111

I can see 117-111 which would be the mean average. 116-112 is as likely as 118-110.

Makes sense. I'll need to rewatch the fight (watched it fully once, and watched a few highlights videos). Looks like it was a good strategy, overall. Thanks for the answers.

Do you know boxing AT ALL? Floyd's camp was saying that Floyd was in the best shape ever, never seen him so driven, never seen him bringing such intensity and power, predicted an easy KO, and then afterwards said that Floyd fought with injured hands. They said Floyd was coming to take Pac's head off and that Pac will be gone before 6. Floyd never even came close to hurting him.

Again, do you know boxing AT ALL? Clearly not given your idiotic post.

yeah, cause tough guys beat up women. Call him a better boxer, not fighter. Please don't call Floyd a fighter... it just doesn't jive. The guy is the master at winning by 'not fighting'.

Lot of ********s on here. Seriously.
The guy is suffering from a debilitating disease called Parkinsons. Perhaps you've heard of it? :verysad

The guy is training his other fighter while also resting a bit.

    Go ahead and flame away.
