It's not that he flags physically but that for all this stuff about him being a great boxer he has a non-existent jab and basically does the same thing over and over: drop the head and loop the left over with full power. He can't keep doing that over and over again because it becomes too predictable and he would get countered. DeGale is only a top boxer in a defensive sense. Good head movement, good feet on the retreat and circling etc. But going forward, he's limited. Even fighting from a distance and in terms of picking up the points he struggles.
Spot on. It seemed Degales corner lulled him into a false sense of security within the fight. Hardly any urgency at all and the momentum was very much with Dirrell up until the 11th.
