Be Really Honest Here: Carl Froch's Opponents Vs. Gennady Golovkin's Who Beats Who?

The upset would surely be a victory for the smaller man, with the smaller reach, fighting against a champion in a weight division above and with a feeble resume in comparison to his opponent.

Abraham had a phenomenonal KO ratio at Middleweight.

At SMW he gets about 1 KO every 5 years.

If your KOs don't come from speed (and GGG is relatively slow) then the power rarely moves up from MW to SMW

 

This, can't be any doubt about this. Froch has been in with so many elite fighter it's ridiculous. I'm gonna be so sad when that man retires.
Even though I'm not a englishman the performances he's made over the course of his career and always entertaining fights.

I've no idea why people compare AA and GGG.
GGG is no knock-out artist like AA. Most of GGG's knock-outs come from brutal beat-downs. Brutal beatdowns were Manny's bread and butter when he was moving up in weight.
GGG will be TKOing people at 168lbs for a long time.

I just watched his fight with AD
Speed, height and reach advantage to AD were nullified by GGG's persistent movement and getting inside before the jab can find range.

 

Prime Kessler (or if you like, the version of Kessler that fought Froch on both occasions) certainly had/has more KO potential than GGG.

Those 2 versions of Kessler KO/TKO GGG at 168lbs for sure in my view. No doubt at all. GGG is a great middle-weight and should stay there and clear up before he slows down.
Go down as a great middle not some risk taking, 'fan' pleasing money-chasing, weight jumping loon.

If he stays at middle and dominates whilst remaining unbeaten he'll be a HOFer and demi-god in Khazakstan. That would be the sensible thing to do. Fu¢k the fan-boy nonsense.:verysad

 

Why can't GGG move up to 168lbs?
Benn had success there. Eubank moved from MW, RJJ, Toney, Nunn, Collins.

Also, just for comparison sake.
Benn is 2cm shorter than GGG and only has 3cm reach advantage.
I'm not sure where you place Benn in your h2H lists but he beats Kessler prime for prime in my mind.
Old Benn did that to McClellan. I think he would do something similar to Kessler.
GGG as a boxer makes Benn look like an amateur.

GGG will have success at 168lbs.

 

Froch has atg resume, he really fought ALL the best fighters. His opposition is better than Ward's too.

no doubt frock takes GGG to places he's never been. i think it's a great fight, love both dudes.

 

Froch's opponents beat Golovkin's opponents but that doesn't mean Froch beats Golovkin. Froch would struggle to beat the smaller Golovkin and I think every knowledgeable boxing fan knows it, even Froch supporters.

 

They all easily KO Geale

 

Though I am quite in the minority, I still see Froch as a tougher fight for GGG than Ward - certainly much more dangerous.

People are mistaken in sizing up the styles, Ward - at least the way he usually fights - is at a stylistic disadvantage, Froch though has a good shot at really testing his chin. The full-extension shot that Koed Groves would KO anyone at the weight IMO and Froch has good enough fighting instincts to land it.

 

I do think Murray-Kessler would have been an epic scr_ap.
