Prime Jones would have outclassed the early 2000's Hopkins as well. Hopkins was a technician who just couldn't deal with the speed and awkwardness of Jones.

I doubt it. Hagler also fought an incredibly fast and powerful Tommy Hearns and he handled him.

He arguably beat the slick and fast Leonard when he was starting to slow down as a fighter.

Jones wouldn't have anywhere to go. Hagler would cut off the ring start to bang.

Jones was nothing like Hearns or Leonard, he was something the sport has never seen

The history of the Middleweight division is littered with incredibly great fighters.

It was the glamor division outside of HW for decades.

There's been many ATG's in the division including Ketchel, Greb, Mickey Walker, Ray Robinson, Carlos Monzon, Marvelous Hagler and Bernard Hopkins. I don't know if I'm missing out on any other significant MW champs, but those guys I just listed are all wonderful ATG fighters.

There might not be any footage outside of training/sparring sessions of Harry Greb, but there are some really good biographical books out there on how sensational he was during his lengthy career.

This is a guy who beat the venerable Gene Tunney (a great LHW,) Tommy loughran (another great LHW) and gave a one sided demolition to a prime Mickey Walker, an ATG middleweight in his own right.

Just reading up on Greb, it's easy to see why many people have him ranked as the greatest fighter who ever lived. He basically beat up on everyone from 155 lbs up to HW. His resume is incredible. the footage of some of his opposition gives people an idea on how great Harry Greb must've been when he fought. It's criminal that footage doesn't exist of him fighting in the roaring 20's.

Monzon #1 for me, by some clear, even if thin, margin.

Exactly, I know the history of Harry Greb, but unfortunately having never seen "anything" at all from him, I can't personally rank him. I can rank Hagler and Monzon and Robinson.

From the few fights of Monzon that I have seen something really stands out to me.

How was a guy this skinny so physically strong? He was scary strong in the ring. Nobody ever seemed to muscle him or bully him. He was like the schoolyard kid in the ring who was just way stronger than everyone else.

Why do you rate Greb#1? what criteria did you base it on?
