I think Marcos takes run time into deep water and drowns him.

I dont agree at all. just because one style isnt to your liking doesnt mean u can penalize him. i found the Oscar fight boring ( and that fight wasnt close at all so stop it) but Canelo and Pacquiao fights entertaining to me. I love to see a fighter dodge a punch then land with great accuracy. its truly brillant!! and if ppl actually know Mayweather then they dont know he was a damn killer for many many years! so he got older. moved up in weight, and its more defensive! THATS SMART!!!

I think the problem is it wasnt a clear defeat. Manny wasnt hurt at any time by floyd and manny landed the hardest punches of the fight and then we get the injury report. The whole thing just doesnt sit right with some people. I think had floyd come out and blasted manny and stopped him then itd be completely different.

like i said, i don't blame him, he's using the system to his advantage.

The DLH fight was close dude, it was a split decision that some think oscar won. Be objective at least...

As far as his style, making opponents miss and using movement effectively is within itself, something to appreciate. What i would like to see though, is a combination of defensive wizardry with action, not the former without the latter.

One thing is dodging punches, moving whilst also attacking and throwing combinations with the intent of hurting opponent. Another thing is running and simply looking to score points by tapping opponents with punches which have no mus**** to them. I don't think any fighter should win rounds when he mostly ran and landed a few gentle counters which opponent didn't even feel. This is turning boxing into some finesse, gentle, softy sport. When you watch Floyd, you don't watch a fight, it's a different type of show...

thus why Floyd fans seem as discontent as Pac fans.

the thing is, even if Pac is 100% healthy, don't expect a super exciting fight. This is floyd Mayweather and he has been Mr. snoozefest for about 5+ years.

Pacquiao can do better, he can certainly take more risks and throw north of 600 punches easily but this doesn't guarantee an exciting fight nor does it guarantee a clear cut winner. If there's a re-match and both are fully healthy i would expect a couple of scenarios:

    1. Pac comes out more aggressive, throws a lot more and dominates Mayweather
    2. Pac comes out more aggressive, takes more risks and gets hurt by Mayweather's counters; Floyd takes control after hurting Pac and wins
    3. Pac comes out more aggressive but Floyd runs even more. Floyd also grabs and holds a lot more, to defuse the aggression (he held Maidana 70+ times in 2nd fight). Even though Pac throws a lot more, Floyd keeps it boring and uneventful by running harder and holding non-stop... sneaking in a few counters here and there.

#3 is likely and if floyd can keep it close, he'll get the win as he knows close fights will always go to him. It would be more exciting but prob not that more exciting. The only people with the power to force Floyd to use more offense are the judges, by awarding him a loss for running and holding and not caring about the softy counters he lands.

What's really on the line more than Floyd is current boxing. Boxing was a much more brutal sport in the 20th century. Floyd never had to go 15 rounds or 20 rounds in a fight, and he fights in a way that while skilled isn't very entertaining like many of the greats from the past.

FMJ manages to win boxing matches again and again, so you can't argue with that. The names of in resume are why he is rated so high, but it's very hard to compare him to 20th century ATGs.

    Not even close.

I barely have him in the top 20.

He can't just fight 48 times while other true ATG fighters fought plenty of bouts more while not avoiding stylistic nightmares.

Typhoon, having re watched it a few times I got the impression it was part of Pacs game plan not to fight as he usually does and throw 600+ punches. I don't think he got dominated in this fight by any means and he was countering effectively with hard shots. I just don't think he executed his game plan to the extent he planned.

I also think he had a lot of success when he targeted the body first.

Floyd Sr told Floyd jr, you fight like your scared, uncle roger said Floyd jr. need to fight PAC again, should knock PAC out and retired. even the may weathers is NOT CONVICED of Floyd 's win over PAC.
