What do some of the early Robinson-LaMotta fights qualify as for Ray? He was weighing in below the WW limit, he was a welterweight, but facing a middleweight.

I'd say it goes towards WW, but how about fights in which he weighed like 149, 150, 151? He was over the WW limit, but lots of fighters have had "over the weight limit" fights. No one says Gatti-Ward 1 is one of the greatest welterweight fights ever, it's one of the greatest junior welterweight fights ever even though they were 141. Michael Spinks had some fights early in his career, such as Marvin Johnson I think, where he was 177-178.

Say a Robinson was around 150-ish? Is that going towards his WW ranking or MW ranking?

Why did Robinson move to MW? He was an extremely small middleweight.

Was he having trouble making 147? Was it for money and bigger paydays? Or a combination?

The people who say this, are they ignorant to the Jones loss or just dismissing it?

I know what you mean. Most great fighters have lost. But it's the way that he lost. It was an outclassing not just a loss.

Hopkins is an ATG, but make no mistake. He was outclassed by Jones.

I have no doubt Monzon would dominate Hagler.
