Official: Ward ducked Degale!!!

Funny Degale was also caught pulling back at times as well ..I would love to see how Ward neutralizes the over hand left ..Plus can DeGale fight on the inside where Ward thrives .Hope it materializes

 

De Gale in previous fights has shown some decent inside fighting. He is quite strong on the inside at times, although he can be prone to throwing half hearted, shoe shine punchers when unloading inside.

He isn't as good as Ward though on the inside. Ward, despite being small, is very strong and his shots on the inside are quicker, shorter and crisper than De Gale's.

De Gale did get hit at times pulling back against Dirrell, but overall he did judge his distance quite well. De Gale, however, did not try to spin of to the sides, defensively, as he has done in previous fights and instead just backed up in straight lines. He won't get away with this basicness and predictability against Ward.

 

I think Ward was playing tiddlywinks that day

 

DeGale certainly has the power to KTFO Ward, whose chin is far more suspect that Drooells.

Ward's game is headbut and hold. I don't think it would work that seamlessly for him against DeGale or Dirrell for that matter.

 

Agreed I also thought that Dirrell had troubles cutting off the ring .. Ward seems the better of the two when cutting off the ring
