Calzaghe has been bitter of Froch for a long time now.

This would also be true but Joe does gives Carl props when asked

Not sure if it is real respect or he just doesn't want to look bitter towards him

I can see anything wrg with this statement tho he prob could have worded it better

You make a point, but Froch at that time was only a British champ and didnt win a world title until after Calzaghe had left SMW, had two fights at LHW and not fought again

calzaghe knows that degale would murder calzaghe, only calzaghe would have run away to a different division and fought 40somethgins instead of degale of course,.

plus he is completely anoyied that froch has surpassed his resume and some of his acehivements - that must surely rankle him.

calzaghe is now regretting not doing anything till he was 34, and now knowing he cant do anything to change his mistake. if he could go back he might now be happy to lose a few fights but gain more respect so that he could surpass froch.

Well done that Degale won the title, but it was an odd way to win. Dirrell started well opening a cut on Degale in the second, but then got overconfident and caught cold and knocked down once. The second KD was probably a slip, but he was very hurt. Then Dirrell seems to proved that he was the better fighter in the mid to late rounds, until Degale nicked the last couple and took the title.

Degale was backing up the whole fight. Froch would've been bullrushing him onto the ropes if he used the same tactics against him. Froch KO'd Groves who had an even fight with Degale. I think Froch still has too much from Degale now.

I'd favor Degale too. Nothing genius or malicious here. Degale is on the up and Froch is on the down.

Yes, Degale is elusive and has a punch.
He had Dirrell on the verge of being stopped.

Carl is too easy to hit at this stage of his career.

Calzaghe is bitter as hell towards Froch, he's getting the credit Joe never really got. It's not surprising when Joe fought half his career in obscurity.

he never got coverage in papers until lacy, nearly his last ever defence.

to be fair, he did get one line entries in papers at times, like when the he fought...was it nohoper pudwill? on the shot2shyte Tyson undercard. he was desperate to figth on that shot has been undercard because it was the only way for him to start getting noticed.
