Calzaghe aside- who is the GOAT at 168?

Meh.

Super middle is a new and historically weak division, it didn't exist until the 1990s and was created for the men who couldn't quite make the jump from 160 to 175; sort of like a 'junior light heavyweight' division.

The most accomplished and talented boxer to ever fight there was Thomas Hearns.

That's right.

Hearns only boxed there 3 times, but Kinchen, Olajide and Leonard are as decent as any opponent as you will find on any other super middleweight record.

The quality of these names vs the weakness of most 168 records puts him up there.

Also, Hearns was the first ever 168 king and the first ever WBO champ; extra kudos for that; he was a pioneer.


Ok. I may not be taking this too seriously, but I've never really liked much at 168. I do, however, like Thomas Hearns a lot.

Special mentions also go to James Toney and Nigel Benn, who I also like a lot.
