Hatton vs Mayweather seemed so huge here in the UK, the build up was immense.

I bet Hearns/Hagler was horrible to you as well, since Hearns has never fought at 160 b4 he fought Hagler. :patsch

Hatton actually fought at 47 and was a world champion at that class.

    Stop crying.

Not even close. I can think of numerous fights of the era that did more to define the era.

    Morales-Barrera I, II, III
    Pacquiao-Barrera I
    Pacquiao-Morales I
    Pacquiao-Marquez I, II
    Hopkins-Trinidad
    DLH-Mosley
    DLH-Trinidad
    Hopkins-Jones
    Holyfield-Lewis I, II

This thread makes me question the sanity of the OP.

Hatton was better at 140 due to the fact that he liked to muscle guys on the inside and he couldn't do that at as much at 147 because the guys are bigger.

This wasn't really a problem in the Mayweather fight, though, due to Mayweather not being a proper WW at that time and Cortez not allowing much inside fighting during that fight.

Hell no. Hatton was not a 147 fighter. Collazo beat him before Floyd did.

Hatton was never good in the first place to be honest.

Who did he beat? Think DeGale might be greater than him.

Hatton lost because Floyd is a better fighter. Let's be real it's going to take more than Hatton to beat prime Floyd or near prime Floyd.

This fight still had the best 24/7 series of any fight.
