Yea i did not understand that logic either,he keeps his right tucked against his body and counters left hooks to the body with right uppercutts
JCC gave Floyd his toughest fight and he put the left to the body and ate right uppercuts to the head all fight long. The lefts to the body were still the better punches than the uppercuts.
He also was a lot bigger then Floyd,Barrera did not have that advantage that 67 inch reach is the same as JMM so he would not be able to get in
I think you meant to say bigger than Floyd. But the fact is if you're going to beat Floyd having a solid left hook to the body is paramount. And MAB is not to be outdone in bodypunching. By anybody from his era. No one. The size matters I admit, but I think Barrera has the perfect style to pull it off.
I think you're lost. It's pretty common knowledge that Barrera's technique and skill was still being honed during the Jones' losses. MAB was a flat out green fighter in 96 and 97.
Marquez would never trouble Mayweather, I agree with Barrera, Morales and Pacquiao with appropriate strategies unlike manny's recent naive approach. Marquez is one smart fighter but he doesn't have the goods to do anything to Mayweather, even against Bradley it was a competitive fight but he rarely troubled bowling ball head.
Julio Cesar Chavez comes to mind.. He'd be a very live dog against Floyd and I think i'd pick JCC to beat him.
Aren't you the ret@rd claiming Calzaghe is in better standing than Hagler and Hearns for beating Lacy and Kessler?.
That left to the body is going to be quickly countered by a right hand that Barrera won't even see coming. Barrera's biggest problem against Pacquiao was his speed. Pacquiao's power overwhelmed him too, but his speed is what bothered him the most. You do know that Mayweather was even faster than you're used to from him at 147-154 at the lower weights, right?.
I do think that JCC would make it a tough fight but think that Floyd would take it narrowly. Arguello I don't see Floyd winning that fight at all. Too much reach coupled with speed and punching power.
Pac wasn an in and out fighter. That gave Barrera problems stylistically. Floyd at the lower weights was a pocket fighter and a defensive fighter. The speed is similar, but the styles not.
