Cotto vs. Canelo is a big fight. It's a fight that has the potential to be very exciting and draw in a lot of viewers. You can't hate on either guy for going that route. People can talk about Golovkin all they want, but he's no different than Canelo and Cotto. He's looking for the biggest payday he can get. Does anyone think that if Mayweather came calling that Golovkin would turn down that fight to take on either Canelo or Cotto for the lineal MW title? I have a bridge to sell you if you think he would.

I'd rather see Cotto vs. Golovkin, since Alvarez hasn't fought any ranked MW's at all despite technically fighting in the division for over a year, but without question Cotto vs. Alvarez makes the most sense as it would please the most viewers (evidenced by the money that would be generated, not the entertainment of the action).

You just can't compare the Martinez-Cotto fight to a potential Cotto-Canelo fight in terms of PPV potential. There are around 6 million Puerto Ricans living in the US, there are around 35 million documented Mexican-Americans. There are 200,000 Argentine-Americans...

The fact that Mayorga-Cotto and Martinez-Cotto did basically the same number of PPV buys tells you all you need to know about what Martinez brought to that fight in terms of PPV appeal.

    I totally agree bro.

And your spot on with, if Mayweather said lets fight GGG are you gonna get made at GGG for fighting him?? I wouldnt! i bet we get "GGG is bout to fight a WW, what a wuss" but if Mayweather would win then we would get " Mayweather a MW champ is a joke!"

So boxing fans what to see certain fights but want everything there way?? this title, that title, this weight. move up, move down! DAMNNNN YOOOOO!!!

Some of us are too spoiled

    You might be right

I always thought that that Martinez had some drawing power but I guess he never really achieved that

yeah you cant compare at all! Still nobody has yet to said whats a bigger fight then Cotto-Canelo...because they cant.

Im not sure any other fight can be made that could do a mil buy other then that fight. I love GGG, and hes becoming a star but it wont do a mil buys at all. maybe 500-750k possibly

Im not even sure Mayweather does another mil PPV again! Cotto-Canelo could possibly be the only fight that does a mil +!! and why you say?? BECAUSE ITS THE BIGGEST FIGHT TO BE MADE RIGHT NOW!!

He should have been, it's just very tough to achieve if you don't have an awful lot of your compatriots living in the US.

Jack Dempsey reigned for years and was regarded by almost every "boxing historian" or "boxing writer" through the 1960's to have been the GOAT or #2 GOAT at Heavyweight.

Throughout his years long reign as champion, he never fought the #1 contender in Harry Wills.

GOAT Sugar Ray Robinson never fought his supposed biggest challenge and top ranked welterweight peer in Charley Burley.

Sh*t happens. They fight for the money.

This has been going on throughout history. If you act surprised, you are basically saying that you don't know sh*t about the sports' past. Sooooo many examples with legends, let alone great fighters, let alone just champions.

Cotto should just kneel down and surrender the belt to Golovkin. There is no excuse.

Cotto-Canelo fights GGG!! get over i! watch an all time classic (I think it will be, neither fighter is gonna back down) then watch another classic in the winner fighting GGG.

and like I said before to someone else, u really got a problem?? Email HBO!! ppl swear this is all on Cotto...HBO just wants the best and biggest fights....Cotto-Canelo is the biggest fight to be made
