If he was a true champion, he'd have never refused GGG and went for Geale instead.

Wladimir Klitschko was the HW king when he cut his payday in order to fight David Haye and gave him 50%. That's a great fighter and a true champion right there.

Cotto (not that he deserves to be mentioned anywhere alongside Wlad) flat refuses to fight Golovkin and goes to fight Geale.

Not that I have a big problem or care too much about it, but viewing it from the neutral perspective, Cotto turned down Canelo to fight Martinez for lesser money, claiming that it was for legacy. Now he switches the tune.

From my view, it seems that Cotto himself doesn't like his chances against Golovkin, which is why he's fighting Geale and will probably try to fight Canelo next. That's not a mentality of a great fighter.

Because like kirk said it's freezing out the division. Cotto can fight Canelo NO PROBLEM - without the goddamn belt. How's that?

He won the belt from a crip, sits on a shelf for 1 year and now wants TWO voluntaries in a row. Sorry that's BS

Same thing happened with Vitali, WBC is degrading their belts by allowing this ****.

Its moot anyhow, Geale is going to clean out the Cottoweight division before Canelo or GGG get a chance. :conf

I completely agree, That this is biggest fight in boxing.

And One can dream, that someday in boxing.champions have to always defend against number One contenders.

If you are champion and fighting, about 2Times a year.you are obligated to prove it regulary.that you are the best in your weightclass.

One could only imagine how many big fights.we could have seen!and how much more popular, boxing would have been.

And that would seperate man's from boy's.

But yes, definetly with current boxing model, this is the best and maybe most interesting match to make.it gets lots of publicity to boxing, and many other things.

Before trying to insult someone, get informed.

Golovkin's team contacted Cotto before they negotiated the Geale fight. Cotto still proceeded to fight Geale.

Team Fury didn't reach out to K2. They announced a tune-up fight on the same night Fury defeated Chisora in WBO eliminator.

What are you not getting? As a champ Cotto is obligated to fights mandos, why was Rubio an interm champ to begin with? Cotto wasn't injured, he's just a diva. GGG - Rubio was an eliminator which was in Fall of 2014 and you're wanting GGG to get his shot sometime in 2016? That's complete BS.

Cotto should drop the belt and fight Canelo, that's a good thing to do.

Oh yeah and Canelo can fight GGG anytime, they are on the same network...
