Holyfield must have really handled Tyson in sparring hence him always wanting the fight Tyson throughout his career, kind of busts the myth that a smaller Holyfield would have no chance. Evander beats Tyson anyday of the week.

My understanding is that Tyson and Holyfield went at it full blast in sparring with neither backing down and it had to be called off. Never once heard the story in the last 30 years that Holyfield got the better of Tyson.

BTW that was the same camp where Ricky Womack made Holyfield cry in the locker room. Now those are some great amateur fights - Womack-Holyfield.

You can read way too much into all this.

It could mean something, or it could mean absolutely nothing.

Read the bite fight book, and it was a very interesting book, in 1984 Tyson and Holy nearly got into a fist fight, when Holy wouldn't give up the pool stick, then the brutal sparring sessions, which went Holy's way, Holy had the steel sack that Tyson never had that's why he had his number..

The problem with this is Holyfield was 24/1 against winning, the first time he fought Tyson.

The reason this sticks in my mind is Ms TBooze ended up with a birthday present worth £250 ish more than she was expecting...

But the truth is I only put my tenner on because Douglas showed no rated Heavyweight was a 24/1(+) underdog.

The reality was I figured Tyson to win the rematch...

The sparring session, singular, went nobody's way. It went one round which was an even battle that had to end because both guys went at each other. Plus, Holyfield was 21 at the time, Tyson was 17.

Maybe i can accept Tyson was always intimidated by Holyfield.
But a question is unanswered. Why did Holyfield bulk his body when he was
so dangerous monster with his 175 or 180 pounds body for 6'2" ?
Obviously Holyfield's well-known bulking was unimportant because he
was so intimidating by his lame skinny body against every version Tyson.
(Otherwise considering Henry Milligan's opinion the amateur Holyfield was far away from the young Tyson.
Milligan fought Tyson and sparred Holy i think this intimidating thing is a
lame joke like the Foreman ****.
I never understand why was this superhuman Evander Holyfield in lower division when Tyson fought Berbick in 1986 ?

Yep. Same with Lewis and for exactly the same reason.

Both met for sparring when they were young amateurs, and Tyson's intimidation tactics didn't work.

Like all bullies they always remember the guys who stood up to them, and they are always wary of them

If Holy hadn't lost to Bowe, and looked sh it against Cyzy Tyson would never have fought him in 96, just as he would never have Lewis at all if he were not in so much debt, a Lennox fight was the only way out of it.

Holyfield looked so awful against Czyz, because it really wasn't a fight for him to get motivated for, he was fighting a 5-9 stubby former Middleweight who was surprisingly doing well before he quit because he claimed his eyes hurt..

If Holy and Tyson decided to come out of retirement for 1 last duel and had 6 weeks to 2 months to train, i would put money on Holy to stop him simply because he was too mentally strong and physically, genetically superior, simple as that...

PS Tyson purposely fouled out of the 1997 fight because he was scared to get KTFO again:yep

"I have no problem admitting I was in there at the right time with Tyson."
    Evander Holyfield.
