Guess that's what he's saying. I wouldn't fight GGG either if I could make a fortune fighting one of his easy KO victims :yep
I'd take a knee. No matter what I was doing, I'd just take a knee for extended periods during the day. At the bank? Take a knee. At the gym? Take a knee. Doing roadwork? Forget it, just take a knee. In fact I wouldn't even bother training with Roach, I'd just take knees at the Wildcard for 6 hrs a day. You remember in Goldeneye where you could slide around on one knee making it harder for people to shoot you? That's Miguel. All the time. That's how he travels from place to place. It's a revolutionary idea.
I would "suffer a cut" in sparring to get out of the Geale fight. Then do everything possible to try and secure a rematch with Floyd for the lineal 160. After losing to Floyd, drop down to 154 and have a farewell fight against Canelo. I think that's the optimal way for Cotto to maximize profits on his way out the door.
If Cotto hadnt signed with JayZ, thats probably what would have happened. Dont expect Big Al to give JayZ a chance, however small, to KO his crown jewel though.
He paid the cost to be the boss. It's all about making the most money at this point, Golovkin can't just skip his "getting famous phase". Golovkin should fight people like Lara, Ward, etc. Somehow it's cool for Golovkin to aim for the money fight but if Cotto does it he gets slandered. Golovkin hasn't been able to market himself enough to create any type of interest in a Cotto fight besides within the hardcore fans.nobody outside of hardcore boxing fans know Golovkin. Nobody fights their mandatory until they catually have to. I would do exactly what he's doing, fight a decent fighter which will most likely secure a win that way the mega fight doesn't fall through. Does anybody really want to watch Cotto vs Golovkin instead of Cotto vs Canelo??
If I'm Miguel, I'll do exactly what he's doing. I already proved myself fighting the best when I was supposed to so it's time to make some big money before retirement. I earned this spot so there's nothing wrong there. If Cotto and his management didn't know what they were doing, they would've go as far as they already have.
Tell Canelo and Golovkin to fight, winner gets me...then retire and laugh after they beat the snot out of each other
I think he'll fight GGG eventually, if he beats Canelo. Or relinquish the belt. He's made us all wait a long time but I don't presume that means he's permanently avoiding him.
:think Do what he is doing. He has a 3 fight deal, right? Fight Geale to work off any rust and see where i am at middleweight. Try and get a fight with Canelo. Fight Golovkin.
Pretty much what Cotto is doing. Use the belt as a bargaining chip to get the fights I want and the best terms, drop the belt if/when forced to fight GGG.
Fight Golovkin, a win over GGG will be the biggest of Cotto's career and look even better with time. The only problems is that GGG will probably win,.
