Maybe write Cotto a heartfelt letter exclaiming how you have lost all respect for him. You can sign it 'dogcatcher', cotto can wipe his ass with it. :blood
its so sad how money and b.s had change the rules in boxing i respect every boxer that put his self on a ring but its not what it used to be. how hard it was to step up to another division back in the day? it was hell!! add the 15 rounds! catchweights are a disgrace to the sport
:nod If it's the only way to make a superfight that I really want to see then I can stomach it, but a catchweight fight should NEVER be for the title.
Martinez was the best and lineal MW in the planet. His fight with Murray was close but could be argued both ways, you debating against it is irrelevant. Martinez was fighting in his hometown of Argentina and got the nod. Martinez was supposed to fight GGG long before the fight with Cotto. He stalled, picked on a midget for a payday then got knocked out. If Cotto were to beat Geale, then his first two fights at MW consist of Martinez(the MW champion) and Daniel Geale(top 5 contender). Those first 2 fights triumph any name in GGG's resume, if you don't agree well I don't know what to tell you. Also, hating on a man for the way he presents himself in interviews? Jesus, how old are you? The man is a boxer and fights for a living, he's not here to charm you. Also, this is like the 7th ****ing time in a row you mention DeGale to me. We're not talking about DeGale here, we're talking about Cotto's reign at MW. We've already discussed DeGale and I've seen his bouts before his fight with Dirrell. You seem to be reaching at this point.
a super fight? yeah but its not going to be a super fight because somebody its going to be on the downlow and somebody its going to have an advantage....so its bull****! to loose a pound in boxing its hell so it will never be a fair fight....and like you said it should never be for the title!!!
He is a WW. What relevant top win has he had at 154? He's been fighting shot fighters like Mayorga and bums like that Jewish kid who broke his leg for a reason. 147 was filled with too much talent and 154 was the perfect division to earn a belt and milk some money. The man is shot, those bricks that Margarito landed on Cotto ruined him permanently. His punch resistance is completely GONE and he's had too many wars. The other random **** you posted above is completely irrelevant. Different fighters have different primes and weights. Man, I can't believe you even brought up that worthless statistic.. :rofl What exactly are you trying to prove to me exactly?
No reaching going on here, mate. Martinez was not the "best" MW on the planet at the time in any sane boxing fan's mind. That was already GGG. So if Cotto beats Martinez (a guy who proved to be very even if not a level just below the version of Murray that GGG fought) and then Geale (a guy GGG beat) then those essentially offsetting victories would trump GGG's remaining 31 wins at the weight? :huh Makes no sense. Now I'm not allowed to like or dislike someone for how they act? How thick are you? There are 2 components of what make most people fans of a certain fighter. 1.) What he does in the ring. 2.) What he does outside the ring. Cotto being a mug in interviews falls into category 2. I bring up DeGale because it's relevant to you as a boxing fan. You didn't even take the time to watch a single bout of a top 5 SMW who also happened to be an Olympic Gold medalist before he had his first fight on American TV. If you're not talking about 2 Americans who have fought a number of times on HBO or Showtime, you probably don't have a lot to add to the discussion.
I never argued he wasn't shot, but he hasn't been a WW for a long, long time and you're a fool if you think there's a hope in hell he could make the weight at this stage. If you can't make WW, you're not a WW...pretty simple. He was weighing 165 a month out from the Geale fight AFTER a workout. Educate yourself :deal And try watching some fights off of HBO and Showtime for a change :deal :hi:
:good I get what you're saying, but as a fan, if they don't put the title on the line then I'd rather see the fight than not if it's the only way to make it happen.
im sorry but martinez was the best mw!! :good ggg was vernon forrest version contender with a paper belt
