cool. no intention to fight mandatories? vacate.

funny seeing people attack ggg's resume while defending other fighters avoiding him.

This is also true. It's funny how it would have been cool for Martinez to beat up a past prime, smaller man who had never even done much at 154 never mind 160 but Cotto gets hate for beating a past prime, bigger guy who was expected to stop him and who may have been concealing an injury. :nut

Doesn't mandatory mean he will have to do just that?

Yes,Cotto can pick whoever he wants.but first drop the title.this sport and fans are sometimes hilarious.if you are the champion you have to fight the best, and give the real contenders a chance!no matter who you are,and what you resume looks like.

Different sport, but still have to say.maybe LeBron should Call David Stern and say, they want to play against Knicks in the finals.according to your criteria.LeBron also have proved himself, and should chase/defend championsips against whoever he wants.let also Usain Bolt choose who he wants to run against in next olympics.

I know how boxing works, but it's disgusting that fans approve this bull****,year after year.almost engouraging some proven fighters to defend their title against inferior competition.

Hes been getting a lot of sctick for ggg and that is understandable. He's not the same fighter any more. In his prime he was avoided by the top fighters. In his best win probably against Mosley he outboxed him clearly. Hes a shoe in in the hof despite his reluctance to face a fighter who is in his prime unlike him

Cotto is a paper chump ducking diva who's holding hostage a belt he doesn't deserve

worst lineal MW champion to ever disgrace that title

For those discrediting his Martinez win just check out this video on youtube for a different fresh perspective on the strategy used vs Sergio….its a refreshing view and an excellent breakdown of the blue print. Some folks lack the ability to read into what unfolded that night…..very little of Cottos success in that fight had to do with Martinez's limited knee and more with Cotto's execution in the pocket. Go to ytube and search "the cerebrally of Miguel Cotto"

    Cotto nuthuggers are incredible

bragging about the ¨tactics¨ employed to beat a pitiful cripple who had no business in the ring to begin with

anyone in the top 20 MW would have beaten THAT Martinez.

even someone like Brandon Rios moving up could be the MW champ now

Agreed. Without resorting to nut shot tactics when he was younger, we wouldn't even be speaking about him anymore. Those low blows literally put him back in control of fights, just check the Corley, Torres, and Judah matches as prime examples.

Nothing but hate in your words…..with that said I agree Sergio was ripe for the picking and the knee would have played a bigger role with Cotto decided to box more than hunt during the fight Cotto took advantage of his pedigree that night though most folks tend to lean towards the knee drama. I'm far from a nutthugger I'm a fan of the sport first and unlike most I keep my opinions objective. Lets try not to label to much heck I'm not one sporting a screen name "GodLovkin"

GGG is awesome however I'll stay away from insulting a much more proven fighter in Cotto. GGG has done less than half of what Cotto has in boxing not that GGG won't surpass him….

So only 1/2 the guys he lost to weren't "the best". Maybe just think about re-phrasing the sentence :patsch :rofl
