It's only sub par compared to his previous 5 years. Taking on Clottey, Bradley twice and Marquez twice aswel as annihilating Margarito is very good going, it won't win him fighter of the decade, but its still a good addition to a great resume.

even if he is pac is fighting at the higher weights doesn't mean he should dominate there. he just takes the competition at the higher level. now for him to playing above is weight is already greatness as he is handicapping himself just for the sport. it is easy to disregard this if you are not a fan of his but it still a fact. pac is like tyson in the heavyweights who has power but disadvantaged in height compared to the likes of lewis, holyfield, etc but they still deliver and make good competition. "a big good fighter always beats a small good fighter."

none of that adds to his resume at all!! he fought a top 10 WW in Clottey but could've fought Mosley for Lineal crown.

1st Bradley fight. decent fight but wasnt even a WW. gets good credit for 2nd win but nothing spectular.

Getting a gift in the 3rd Marquez fight and KO cold in the 4th doesnt help his resume.

Margarito was a weak fight and only matters because he becamee a 8th division titlist but thats even BS> goes down in the record books so whatever but how is that a great win.

But he did fight Mosley later tho. And although he didn't win the lineal champ by having fought him first, Pac was already #1 p4p in the world. Its similar to saying that Danny Garcia should have fought Peterson before Herrera, since the former would have been lineal champ material.

And although not in the best of circumstances, Clottey was arguably Top 5 WW at that point. With the Cotto lose and Berto out not fighting (due to Haiti Earthquake) that essential pushed Clottey to the top of WW division. Would be no different than Pac beating Thurman no days or

The 1st Bradley fight was actually a very good win, not just decent. Well sort off. I mean if your gonna play the "Bradley technically won" card, then one can easily say the same for the 3rd Marquez fight. Anyway Bradley was seen as the legit lineal champ at 140 after his Alexander victory and the defeat of Khan to Peterson (a former Bradley victim). Again essential a win over what today would be Danny Garcia.

The Margarito fight is the one I agree wasn't too great. It did make history for Pac and all, but due to circumstances...wouldn't classify it as beyond a nice win.

Overall I think Pac's last 5 years have been decent in terms of opponents and wins. Its just also printed with the worst parts of his career, the KO and the loss to Mayweather.

Nice breakdown. Many people fail to realize this. Pac was a media darling portrayed as a saint and got a pass for many of these BS matchups. When he finally fights Mayweather, he gets dominated...and is so embarrassed he resorts to excuses. Serves him right.

Yea Pac fought Mosley after he loses the lineal crown to Mayweather and a draw with Mora...weak homey, plain and simple.

The only thing I disagree with this is the Mosley fight. It was garbage through and through.
With Mosley's loss to FMJ, and subsequent draw to Mora, they should've fought someone better.

Also to add, considering Bradley outweighed Pac on fight night and was unbeaten at the time, Pac-Bradley 1 was a very good win. It didn't matter that the fight was at WW. Pac himself is not a natural welterweight, but since it was his belt on the line, of course it should be at 147.

Bottom line is there simply wasn't any opponent outside of Floyd and JMM that would give Manny the fits.
And he fought the harder opponent of the two until he got KTFO.
I'd say people here are giving Pac too little credit for doing that. There simply weren't enough talent around.
