Floyd was just far too advanced for Manny, always was and always will be.

Floyd's inability to parry a left hand was telling. No wonder he's so open to the orthodox jab. Parrying a jab is like the first defensive technique everyone learns.

 

His reactions have slowed a bit so you can understand him maybe getting hit more, but I think he still has a very good defence.

He got hit more in the Maidana fights due to the style in which he chose to fight; not holding and standing on the ropes against a rough house fighter. In the Pac fight he made Manny look silly many times. Obviously Manny landed with some shots as Manny is a great fighter, but defensively, over the past five years Floyd hasn't slipped that much.

As for Sr being worried in the corner - he said it was because he felt Manny may nick the rounds as he was the fighter coming forward. Mayweather's game is counter punching. Manny didn't lead of as often as many thought so Floyd's output was low because of this, so it is understandable why Sr thought that in the eyes of the judges it may look like floyd wasn't doing much.
