The real problem with "the Golota fight earned him a shot" line, (apart from the fact that Golota was barely deserving of a lower top 10 spot at the time if at all), is that not only did he take 12 months out before fighting again (Nielsen) but he turned up 18 pounds heavier ! and looked sloppy. So even for people who claim that the Golota win was something special, and that "20 months is nothing" -(), they have to totally ignore Tyson's most recent fight and declined condition in the lead up to the Lewis fight, never mind all the 'outside the ring' evidence.
This really is 100% pure ****. who walked back into the corner hurt after round one, it wasn't Lewis. Who got the **** kicked out of him for 7 rounds, it wasn't Lewis. Who got a point taken away for leaning, holding, elbowing etc, so much so that Larry Merchant said Lewis was fighting both the ref and Tyson. After the fight Foreman said Lewis was the best fighter ever, and yet, you find away to criticise they guys performance. Pure hate is all this is.
Get Lewis' **** out of your ass! Lewis did fight scared, especially in the first round. Even Emmanuel Steward was literally screaming at him for it. Good lord, can you imagine how he would have fought if he didnt have Tyson's grandfather in front of him? Lewis' lazy, lay back, straight up, European, jab-right hand, style was made to order for a prime Tyson who was a master at getting inside the reach of bigger guys and landing bombs. He would have ended Lewis' glass chin in short order prime for prime. Hes just damn lucky he got Tyson over 10 years past his best.
His argument is that Lewis upper cuts would have been too much for Tyson to get in and would have stopped scarred him. But the actual fight showed that Tyson's chin and ability to take punishment >>>>> Lewis and it still did not stop him from trying to come inside Lewis even at the expense of taking more and more punishment compared to Tua who just shut down and backed off. A prime Tyson with hand and foot speed will be beating Lewis to the punch and will be more ferocious with his body punches, combinations to the body and head thus giving Lewis something he had never ever dealt with in his entire life.
Fact is I've watched this fight, and Tyson was lucky to have gotten out of the first round, so I don't know which fight you were watching. Both Lederman and Foreman said that Tyson was hurt with one of those upper cuts that landed and it was clear to anyone watching the fight that this was in fact the case. If you think Tyson would have made short work of Lewis in his prime, that's your prerogative, but that first round was clearly a strategic victory for Lewis. After all, going back to the corner after the first round only one fighter was hurt, and it wasn't Lewis. And when insulting one fighter to bolster another fight starts to take place, I know I'm discussing this topic with an intellectual midget. H2H Lewis is monster, in fact they both are. Truthfully, I don't know why, but I really expected you to be more balanced and quite frankly intelligent, rather than just some fan boy of a particular fighter with some pathetic glass jaw argument. And I've posted a link to this fight just to prove to how full of **** you are with respect to whether or not Lewis fought scared in the first round. You can support and **** on any fighter you like, I don't much care, but one thing you can't do is change the facts.
My argument is pretty much as you stated. If Tyson could manage to get in fairly regularly and not take a ton of punishment doing so, he could probably sustain a body attack, but then again it might depend on the ref, because Lewis would be trying to tie Tyson up. He would also be trying to time him coming in. As Foreman himself said, Tyson hitting Lewis in head, it's going to occur all that much, because of the size difference. But certainly Tyson could win, but so could Lewis. Like I said, their actual fight may have gone 8 rounds, but Tyson was dazed in the first round.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQeZzlV8X2A Lewis clearly had Tyson hurt in the first minute of the fight. No way was Lewis fighting scared, watch the first minute. "Tyson attacking Lewis, and Lewis coming back with three upper cuts." Merchant says "Tyson may have been dazed with one of those upper cuts" Foreman "May have, there's no doubt about it."
sorry lennox you beating mike tyson was like larry holmes beating muhammad ali or rocky marciano beating joe louis it was a big payday for both ....but lennox bragging about beating an old 11 yrs past coked out tyson is nothing to brag about because danny williams did it in half the time as lennox
Have they got a school for fantasism where you live? If so you must be it's star pupil. The above is what actually occurred, and NOT the opinion of some Tyson fan boy.
Prime Tyson would end up just like he did against Douglas, crawling around like a baby looking for it's dummy.
Looking for it's dummy? Is that the proper english you learned from the back of the re tar d bus? Prime Tyson would bend Lennox over and get a proper reach around. :deal
Spoken like a true Lewis d*cklicker with no idea what he's talking about...Tyson was more interested in unifying the titles ...this is what actually happened weirdo... The result brings a scathing attack from Jay Larkin, senior vice-president of Showtime TV sport. He alleges Lennox has no genuine intention of facing Tyson. "It's totally untrue to suggest Tyson is afraid of Lewis," stresses Larkin, whose company has exclusive rights to Mike. "Lewis is welcome in a ring with Tyson on July 13 and we will pay him 10 million dollars - the biggest purse of his life. "Lewis and his people have refused. In their greed they have tied themselves to HBO Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) A form of oxygen therapy in which the patient breathes oxygen in a pressurized chamber. "All their talk of shaming Tyson into fighting is bluff. Lewis is simply not available. Unless he gets three of the HBO contracts there is no possibility of him meeting Mike." Larkin reveals they are courting Evander Holyfield for July instead. And he insists the legal ban on Tyson boxing anybody but Lewis will be overturned. Says Larkin: "Sadly, Tyson is now trying to abandon the WBC belt to get on with his life. Lennox Lewis can pick it out of a trash can - again." Eliades confirms: "We have turned down Showtime's offer because we'd prefer to put on the fight ourselves. We can pay Tyson 45 million dollars. from people actually there not some weirdo troll..Lewis had a offer and a date...which HE and HIS team turned down..now take ya re****ed ass to bed.:dead
