I don't see this as controversial at all. Algieri fought great and made it competitive. But Khan clearly won between 7 and 9 rounds. People are just hating on Khan for a disappointing performance. But objectively speaking, I'm shocked people think Algieri won.
It was a razor tight fight with Algieri being the aggressor and landing the more telling blows Khan being at times the better boxer perhaps landing more very interesting.
I think Algieri has exposed Khan to some extent. It's a shame he didn't stay at light welter weight. Algieri could have been very good at that weight.
8 people dont know ****t about boxing 116-112 maybe 115-113 . Probably the same people who say Manny outboxed Floyd (rofl)
People who say Khan still clearly won are delusional. I had it a draw and I can see it either way, but to say it was a clear win for Khan is pathetic. Algieri landed just about as many punches as Khan, threw quite a few more, pressed the action, and landed the harder shots. Obviously I have to go back and watch it round by round more closely to be exactly sure what the score should be, but a close decision for either fighter is acceptable.
