Floyd shouldn't get a pass just because he beat Canelo, who (barely) beat Lara

triangle theories dont work in boxing, styles makes fights and all that

Lara has been Floyd's mandatory at 154 for a while, and he's easily the toughest challenge for Floyd both at WW and JMW

(barring a fight with GGG moving down in weight, which will never happen. Floyd just doesn't have that kind of ballz)

Lara is the most legit and realistic challenge Floyd could take, a truly stylistic nightmare for Floyd. I favour Lara in this fight. The only reason Lara lost to ginger (and one could argue the cuban deserved at least a draw) was because he feared Canelo's power. Floyd cant punch for shiet specially at 154,

how would Floyd react to someone extremely slick, skilled, accurate and more negative than Floyd himself? can Floyd even fight if he's forced to be the agressor? we dont know. the cherrypicker has never taken this kind of test before, and we need to find out

When you beat Canelo you don't need Lara. He's not better than Canelo and he certainly brings much less to the table. As much as I dislike Floyd, one cannot expect him to fight Lara. GGG is another story though.

While Algeri came forward last night and made an EXCITING fight because of his aggressive attempt to shock the world,

IT IS HIGHLY unlikely that Lara would do the same in an attempt to dethrone Mayweather.

Two of boxings top CPers who both make their livings off the back foot, in stylistically BORING fights.......

I can't see this fight doing more than 300K buys.

Nobody would pay to see 10 punches landed per rd, neither guy hurting the other, and both backing out of range after they'd landed a punch....

Mayweather landing the L R hand, then circling out of harms way, while Lara would take a step forward behind the jab, hit gloves over have it caught by the May shoulder-roll, then Lara taking three steps back before May could counter off the roll.

12 rds of loud BOOING in Mayweather final fight.

    NOT GONNA HAPPEN.:huh:huh

Fighting Lara means nothing to Floyd. His next fight should be against someone with huge fanbase as he just get past his career defining fight.

GGG would have an unofficial 11-13lb weight advantage if he took the fight at 154, and while NO ONE knows how the lower fighting weight, which would undoubtedly drop from 170 to about 166-167, would affect his power, we can all assume it'd be more than enough to drive
Mayweather into the 4th row right into Stallone's or Schwarzenegger's lap.

We're talking about a guy who could probably still make 140 with a little effort, vs a guy who's power would likely easily translate to success to as high as 175.

Also, this aint some come forward brawler like Abe or a wild darting fighter like Pacqioua. GGG does throw a punch that aint gonna hit something, whether it's an arm, a hip, or the top of an opponents head.

Why should Mayweather sacrifice himself to the boxing gods, when he could postpone his farewell fight till December, and take on and likely take OUT Amir Khan in front of 25K of the worlds wealthiest and most famous ppl.

Mayweather scoring a KO win in his farewell fight, ON FOREIGN soil, and not having to retire hearing how he ducked Amir Khan.

Mayweather will never fight Lara. Too high of a risk, for far too low of a reward.

When you claim to be "TBE", it is expected of you to do things far fetched that would otherwise not be expected of an ordinary welterweight. You can't just go fight opponents you'll be a 9 to 1 favourite over and expect people to see you as the best ever.

Unexpected would fit the bill by picking the only fighter that's more boring than you

Now why does Mayweather need to fight a boring, lefthanded, non English-speaking guy with no fanbase, two OFFICIAL losses, and 20 fights in 7 years? Mayweather has every fighter from 135-160 lining up to fight him, he has plenty of options.

GGG is criticized for not fighting Lara for one reason; HE SAYS NOBODY WILL FIGHT HIM. Lara has been begging for the fight for a year and His management has not answered. Big difference.

(And BTW, I think Lara gives Mayweather all he can handle.)

Had Lara beaten Canelo then he could be in position for a Mayweather fight

Since he didn't, you can't really make a case for him

I've been saying for years Lara would be a nightmare for Floyd. Floyd has never fought an honest-to-god boxer his entire career. Lara's length, jab, and overall skill would trouble Floyd.

Yeah it would do almot as bad as Pac v Rios or Pac v Algieri. Floyd is no Pac and is not desperate enough to fight 300K PPV.
