Because he should have done to Tyson what Tyson did to Holmes for example. Tyson didn't even fight back after the first round. Same with Holyfield who would go on a streak of miserable fights. Lewis shows up in the ring with a suit of armor on with his kidney belt pulled up to his eye*****
More cr ap. The fight would have been over sooner if Lewis wasn't fighting Tyson and Eddie Cotton. Once he got tired of torturing Tyson and decided to close the show Cotton declared a perfectly good KD a push.
First of all, Tyson was a much ore dangerous puncher than Holmes, I'm sure you'll give Tyson that, secondly, he hit Tyson with 3 consecutive upper cuts in the first minute of the fight, Tyson just happens to take a great punch. Watch the first minute of the fight and you'll see that Lewis wasn't going to allow Tyson to intimidate him, which is a huge part of any Tyson fight. After that failed it was the being of the end for Tyson. Same thing when he fought Douglas and Holyfield. And as Merchant said, throughout the fight, Lewis was fighting both Tyson and Cotton. Thirdly, every fighter has a different style, Lewis trading with Tyson doesn't make sense given all the other ways Lewis has of winning. Why would he allow a fighter who only has one way of winning, the opportunity to exploit that opportunity? Makes no sense. As for Lewis showing up in the ring with amour on his kidney's, I think any fighter should try and get away with whatever works. If the ref allowed it, so be it. Just like Holyfield's headbutting everyone he fought. I don't particularly think it's fair that he was allowed to, but I don't go crying over it either. I really can't think of many top echelon heavyweight who didn't bend the rules if they could. Certainly Ali did, as did Holyfield, and Tyson just to name three of the top of my head. I could show Tyson giving Lewis a blatant forearm to his neck if you wish.
Nice post. I just wish the Lewis worshipper/Tyson denigrator (Foxy) would be as objective as you and refrain from the name calling that you point out in this post.
atsch Yeah thats how most saw it including Emanuel Steward who declared Tyson a corpse after a few rounds.
Thats not the point I was making Tyson made a statement with Holmes and Spinks, Holyfield made a statement with Douglas; Bowe made a statement with Holyfield. Lewis fought like a big pU ss Y almost against everyone with a pulse even with the extreme size advantage he had over both Holyfield and Tyson. So he should have taken out Tyson or Holyfield like he did shot Ruddock for example. :happy
What part of KO - 8, are you too stupid to understand. If you are looking for a pu ssy in the fight, look no further than Tyson screaming like a teenaged girl as his corner are swabbing the cuts to his eyes at the end of the 6th round.:rofl:rofl
Unlike some people I consider nonce cases to be sub human, and they do not deserve to be treated in any other way, no matter what they do, or did for a living. They are a hairs breadth away from child molesters. People far cleverer, knowledgeable, and experienced than you OR indeed I have categorically proven that s ex offenders are the only criminals that can never be rehabilitated, as the urge can re manifest itself at any time. So if you don't like my position on those filth, then lump it.
Holmes maybe, Spinks was scared ****less before he even entered the ring. I don't know Tyson gets so much credit beating a guy who was clearly petrified. And I think Lewis made lots of statements, he made short work of Ruddock, who if you check his record prior to fighting Lewis, wasn't all that shot, he also made short work of Golota, walked through Briggs, beat the **** out of Vitali, and walked through Rahman in their 2nd bout. If you watch the first round of the Tyson fight, he delivered enough solid punches that I'm pretty sure he would have KO'd many fighters, Tyson just wasn't one of them, given his ability to absorb punishment. But at the end of the day, the objective is to win, and I'm sure after the McCall fight, the new objective become to win while taking a minimum amount of risk, and if you don't like that style blame Manny because Lewis sure as hell didn't fight like that prior to Manny being his trainer.
