British commentary abysmal as usual. 10-8 Joshua though.

Linares is a good fighter, but maybe being a little overrated here. He reminds me of a white Howard Davis (young guys look him up). Super slick, but not especially quick, powerful or tough, and just always leaves you wondering why he isn't a real star.

    Round 1

Joshua is picking off Johnson's high left jabs with the front of his right glove. Long right hand by Joshua behind a jab, and Johnson is STUNNED. Johnson is fleeing, looking shaken. All defense by Johnson, as Joshua picks his spots with powerful straight combos thrown smoothly behind the jab. Johnson down off a right! Very rough shape. Up and hit several times wihle shelling up! Joshua lands until the bell and Johnson falls after it sounds.

10-8 Joshua (2nd knockdown punch came after the bell)

To me, "bottle it" has a far more negative connotation than "quit".

A quit, can be reasonably justifiable - surrendering in the face of over-whelming odds - being sensibly unwilling to get badly hurt with absolutely no chance of a win (I'd put Mitchell in that category).

Bottle indicates a moral failing - unjustifiable cowardice - running when even an average man would stand his ground. Giving up at the first real obstacle. Bottling is epitomised by someone who actually has the tools to win but doesn't because they dare not fail whilst trying (better to quit of their own volition than at another's hand).
