Struggled with Skeete (no offence to Bradley), Just got steamrolled by Kell (and Kell is the weakest champ, IMO), won't move to LWW and live the life, is getting on in age, hasn't adapted his style... The lad has clearly made a pretty penny, he should enjoy it as his career is over. What's the alternative? Rematch Skeete for a few grand and possible lose? Move down to LWW and fight Matthyse, Peterson or Crawford? Yeah right! He's done, IMO.
Meh, he either needs to change up his style and learn to use a jab and some offense rather than pitter patter shots or like you say retire. You don't win big fights by having nothing on the attack.
simply too weak to be at welterweight. I wouldnt advocate retirement but he needs to be happy being in/around domestic level, maybe european honours He wil never be champion though
Typical Mick ****. All mouth, no trouser. I hope you choke on your potatoes you ****ing cowardly cnut.
What was the bet? Gavin doesn't need to retire but he does need a serious rethink or we'll just end up seeing him losing on prizefighter in a couple of years to an up and coming kid.
Retire? steady on. Frankie is a tricky and savvy fighter, but I've said for a long time, as have many others, that he isn't suited to welterweight. Looking at him, you'd think that he could make light welter but then Frankie knows his body better than anyone else. Tonight went as most predicted, Brook was too big and strong. Frankie was tricky but just couldn't keep him off - fair play to him for stepping up and wanting the fight. I hope he can bounce back and carve out a good career for himself at Matchroom. Also for those saying he made a pretty penny, that's not true. He admitted himself he took the fight because it was his opportunity to land a world title but the money wasn't great and that wasn't the reason behind it. He's got a young family to look after so of course he's not just going to jack it in.
Good post, and he was brave in there tonight too eating double portions of chocolate brownie, the state of his face was evidence of that.
