Anybody else feeling this way? We're not seeing great fighters in their prime facing each other anymore.

Since the decline of Pac, Morales, Marquez and Barrera what's been happening in boxing?

Ward won't fight. Froch and Kessler brought the best, but it doesn't stack up. HW division sucks.

The Eastern Europeans are talented with power, but their competition is relatively poor.

I can see why boxing tried to hype up Canelo as the next great hope. Boxing needs one bad.

Floyd made everyone 137-154 look mediocre.
Casuals aren't interested in anything below 130
168-175 not much competition for the top guys
    HW dominated by Wlado
Cruiserweight really interesting, but stereotype make it out to suck

Canelo will far surpass Morales, Marquez, and Barrera. Do you really think Canelo would struggle with a Juan Diaz? The guy loses one fight to tbe who would schooled 2 of those guys, and would have schooled Morales and NMarquez and he's hype now? Who did Barrera really beat besides Morales? Kevin Kelly? an old Ayala? Canelo has beat Lara, Mosley, Trout, Angulo, Kirkland just to name a few and the guy is barely in his mid 20's. When it's all said in done his resume will **** on Barreras, and Morales if you exclude Pacquiao.

Lara & trout win are arguable, mosley was shot and didn't have his steroids.

Ayala was shot. And the Trout win isn't arguable, only someone who can't score a fight for ****, or wants to discredit Canelo would say that. THe lara fight is arguable, but Canelo won to the majority, and definitely was not a robbery.

Never said it was a robbery, but they're both arguable.

Canelo couldn't even drop hatton's brother, but brook could. Problem ? I think Alvarez got hyped too much.

What's the point with age ? Alvarez was fresh & all hyped at that time.

It's pretty clear that Canelo isn't as good as the hype he was getting.

Any of those mini fab 4 would have destroyed Trout and Lara p4p.

Remember when Barrera just absolutely lit up Hamed? Sublime.

he feasted on mediocrity his entire career

Most likely brook, but I'm not following his career so I might be mistaken. Alvarez > brook oppositions tho, that's pretty clear.

Well since the fab 4 got old and washed up he and Froch pretty much were the best boxing had to offer from a combination of talent, entertainment and competition.

Kessler has fought some pretty good opposition even tho he didn't win them all: Froch x2, Ward, Calzaghe, Mundine, Julio Cesar Green just to name a few ...

    froch i agree
as i said about kessler, talent or not he fought 2 guys in his era that were considered the best in 50 fights.....
Gusmyr Perdomo, Haussler, Sartison, Siaca, Mundine, Lucas, beyer, andrade..... hardly the defenses of legends
