Anyone think it was completely biased? I had to turn it off to be honest. Adam Smith started by saying that Ryder was the more skilled man without a punch being thrown. Now I have no doubt that Ryder won the first 2 rounds and looked decent doing so. But that was likely to happen given he is a big lump, with an awkward southpaw stance and throws punches from unorthodox positions. Blackwell was working him out and looking uncomfortable doing so.

After the second it was an even fight and Blackwell was becoming increasingly more dominant. I really like Pauli but he couldn't see past the direction that Smith was giving him. Constantly saying Ryder was the better boxer and that Blackwell needed to show something different. From my perspective from round 3 onwards Blackwell was able to box and get the jab into play. Ryder went from sharpshooting to holding up close, spoiling and trying to land in clinches. Pauli then started saying Ryder didn't need to do that as he was better at range. When he went back to range was getting picked off! Ultimately, getting caught and stopped. Irrespective of the stoppage, Blackwell was winning that fight, he is as fit as a fiddle and was getting stronger and stronger.

Bear in mind Blackwell was busted up to the eye and the nose in the first, I have to say it was an amazing performance. I honestly think you could have that fight 10 times and we would get the same winner. The commentary was abysmal, it was like Blackwell was in there with a slick technician and he was a plodder with good stamina. It is forgotten that he had pretty much already beaten Bursak and Khomitsky (regardless of what the chip shop paper says) and Ryder hadn't not looked good for along time.

No disrespect to Ryder, appears a nice lad and will come again. Personally think Eddie has not done enough for him as he has bigger fish to fry now. My point is that not being the Sky fighter was shown up tonight and the commentary was awful and seemingly premeditated.

Comment from Pauli after 4 rounds:

"Good round for Blackwell, he just didn't except that Ryder was more talented"

    **** grammar, awful punditry.

The commentary all night was shocking AGAIN, I said it at the time and I will repeat it now, if Sky have Halling and Watt on any more PPV shows I will not buy them.

    And I honestly mean that.

Those two have gone too far now, I'm all for different opinions and it's good to get another point of view but these two only commentate on the home fighter, ignore or talk over the away fighters shots, almost like they didn't happen.

It actually is ruining my entertainment now, they are so far off nearly every event.

I don't think Watt is as bad as some make out on here, but his main problem is that when he starts singing the praises of a fighter he keeps going on about it round after round and often misses the good work that said fighters opponent is doing.

Halling is truly awful. He needs to go back to American Football. He wasn't to bad at that.

Halling shouldn't be allowed near a mic on Sky Sports, his commentary is shocking.

I don't like saying it because it's somebody's career and living but Halling is not good enough, as paying customers we deserve better than him.

Watt I can half forgive, reminds me of Uncle Albert from Only Fools, waffles on about the old days and things he likes regardless of what is actually going on, he needs a strong commentator next to him to keep him focused but Halling is calling things that are just not happening or ignoring action that in his mind didn't happen.

Halling commentating is like going down the pub to watch the match with your girlfriend; spouts nonsense with an air of unwarranted confidence

    Perfect.

Pauli going on about Ryder being more talented was awful. Are they all Matchroom cheerleaders now?

Exactly. He wouldn't shut up. Pauli gets credit when due but he was woeful last night and it was as if he had been told what to say.

The first thing Smith said was 'Ryder is the better boxer'. No he isn't Adam, he simply isn't.

pauline has always been an appalling gobsh!te, i've no idea why anybody rates him. you're just giving him excuses by saying smith misdirected him.

    :good

Nick was an excellent studio man for Sky's NFL coverage!! He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and he had great rapport with Kev Cadle. I wish he would go back to that as I enjoyed his contribution to Sky's NFL programmes.

That said, he is out of his depth as a boxing commentator. He comes across as an enthusiastic fan, who was only recently introduced to the sport.
