At the end of the first round it looked like AJ hit Johnson a couple of times after the bell. In fairness to AJ, the crowd was very loud so he may not have heard it and Ian John Lewis' positioning was awful when you consider Johnson had just been knocked down and looked wobbly and the round was about to end. He should have been much closer and to the side instead of practically standing behind AJ. Anyway, AJ has done this a couple of times before. What are people's opinions on this and what it may mean to him in the future. The obvious negative is that it could see him get points deducted in the future or even DQ'ed. Conversely, does anyone see the positives in it i.e. evidence of a spiteful, killer instinct a la Tyson?
He's done that in every fight. He can get away with stuff like that because he's the next big thing. The next Lenny Lewis.
It's up to the ref to warn and then take a point. I don't think Joshua is inherently a dirty fighter just maybe a bit eager.
I was worried that johnson hurt his back when he fell on the ringside advertising boards - I think they need to get rid of those The back injury probably influenced the out come of the fight AJ should have received a warning for fouling but obviously he is "the great British hope"
Wouldn't blame Joshua that much hitting after the bell when the crowd are so loud and the ref wasn't in the position to stop him. I'd be more concerned with Joshua hitting people when they're down which he's done a few times too.
I noticed that, that's why I think Ian John Lewis had to let it continue, he was picking up Johnson everybody was saying "It's over" so if he called it off right then or Johnson wasn't able to continue after AJ has thrown that punch would Ian John Lewis have had to DQ AJ?
:deal Look at this shocking display of fouling by a young Lennox Lewis : [yt]dFMEZgqYEeQ[/yt] It's corruption at its finest.
Lummox Lewis should have been disqualified that was a disgrace a combo whilst on the floor more proof boxing is corrupt
Wouldn't a DQ have been sweet? Joshua hits them on the floor nearly every fight. Remember he's only been in horrendous mismatches too. He won't get done for it but karma says someday he's going to get an explosion of a smack when he's on the floor.
