Why do you, like many on here, feel the need to have an opinion on something that hasn't been proven yet?

AJ needs his chin tested, just like he needs his stamina, defence, ring IQ, mental toughness and ability to adapt tested, along with his ability to cut the ring off and his ability to pick his shots well against a good mover and to break his opponent down.

All of these are unproven yet, but to say he can or can not do this is, frankly, wishful thinking.

Just because the guy gets lots of hype for things he has not yet proven, don't be equally as daft and go in the opposite direction.

Lack of plan B will be his downfall.

He can't knock out everybody he faces.
When he meets somebody who he can't knock out. Lets say a Pulev he'll have to fight on the back-foot.
I don't see him beating Pulev.

Lewis used to go for the knock-outs also during his up and coming period. He eventually walked into 2 guys who hit back. Joshua will meet the same fate one day.

    Doesn't mean he's a "hype-job"
He has all the tools to be one of the best heavyweights over the next decade. He just needs to work on his jab, to conserve his energy for the eventual 12rds vs slicker more durable opponents.

If I was Hearn, I'd stick him in with a boxer like Jennings rather than a puncher like Price, because he's not going to learn anything from facing punchers at this point of his career.
He needs to face the boxers now.
Hughie vs Joshua would be an ideal fight for both fighters imo.
    Boxer VS monster puncher.

    Which one will adapt?

Joshua and his team are just going about their business in a good way, from 13 fights most opposition is guna be weak but the Sprott, Love and Johnson are not bad opposition against somebody who has only fought 10 ppl with not many more rounds. Level of opponant will start to climb from now on though, it has to.

I think he looks too bulky, like Bruno he is guna be prone to frustrating little injuries and he does look quite stiff in his movement, nowhere near as bad as Bruno though. But for such a big guy he has got good fast hands.

Ive heard rumours about his chin but these days everybody claims everybody has glass. Also at this weight most boxers have the power to knock most other boxers down, so what he has been down in the am,s or took a knee in sparring. Look at Vlad, hes been KO,d big time more than once yet he now seems unbeatable. Same reason i cant get my head around people not wanting to give Wilder any hope, bad chin = instantly written off boxer, hes WBC champ for christ sake.

Theres still questions i want answering about AJ,s chin and stamina but if he can even half tick those boxes he is guna be a huge name in this division.

In fairness to AJ, he goes in looking to box. He doesn't just steam in throwing hayemakers. It is only when he hurts his opponent that he goes in for the kill.

I agree with you that he needs to face a good mover. Guys who just sit on the ropes with their gloves up just get bludgeoned by Joshua. KJ is a tough guy and he couldn't stand up to it, so now we know that AJ's power is for real. Now we need to see him prove other things.

Jennings may be a little to much for Joshua at this moment in time. Malik Scott or Dillion Whyte (another up and coming Brit who beat AJ in the am's) maybe a better option.

I don't know why Bruno is mentioned like he's some sort of a loser. He was a great fighter. He lost against the likes of Lewis and Tyson yeah but who hasn't?

Bruno was a loveable loser to the Brits. He lost all his big fights but one.

He could have a glass jaw - but so far, the evidence is not there to make a definitive conclusion. I would therefore call his chin "questionable," rather than confirmed glass.

Bruno gets under-rated I think. He was boxing fantastic against ATG Lennox Lewis until Lewis took him out. Great jab, one of the best examples of a 'ram-rod' jab if there ever was one.

I'm not saying he was an ATG or anything, but he gets under-rated and should not be held up as an example of a fraudulent heavyweight. That's ridiculous.

How can nobody remember Chris Grant... He was a sublime ATG fighter. Far better than his namesake Michael.

As a pro it hasn't been tested but as an amateur we've seen him take big shots and still stay upright.

His chin is unlikely to be iron like a McCall or Mercer, probably not even good as Vitali's but so far there is nothing to suggest he has a chin as bad as Price, Fraudley or Bruno.

Time will tell but I think his chin will be fine.
