He has many strengths, but what weaknesses do you think Anthony Joshua has? I think he doesn't move his head enough and could be prone to getting hit flush vs a top opponent like Klitschko, like how lennox lewis got ko'd vs hashim rahman.
Bad footwork No head movement (although he hasn't needed it yet) Bad chin in the amatures - hasn't been hit as a pro
On the rare occasions he's been hit as a pro he's tended to stand his ground and fire back which isn't always a good thing. He seems to prefer blocking shots on his arms rather than using his feet or upper body movement to slip shots which may not work well when he finally faces a guy that can get inside.
If he had a bad chin, Magomedrasul Majidov would have stopped him in the amateurs you imbecile. He got hit a lot in that fight as a 2 year novice and Majidov couldn't stop him.
So far, from what I have seen, he needs to improve his footwork. He also seems a little tense in there. I could be wrong about that, but if I'm right, tense fighters usually have stamina problems. Overall, I think he has some pretty great potential.
Weaknesses which are hard/impossible for him to improve: Agility Foot speed Hand speed head movement Chin? I can guarantee he hasn't got an iron chin...but at best he has a Wlad chin...so he can get by on that. It's just the way he is physically...He needs to learn from Wlad. Really needs to master the jab Master holding & clinching techniques (sorry folks) When he gets in with guys that can take him all the rounds he will have stamina issues - so learning to pace himself is on the list.
Questionable chin in the amateurs. A bit stiff legged. Does not know how to clinch. Defense is open to jabs, counter rights, and crosses Joshua has size, speed, power and offensive skill, but he needs to fight someone who's willing to punch back soon. He's young. I would not rush him
Exactly, it's not so difficult to knock out a load of part-time bouncers and shot pros looking for an easy payday.
