Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr will be working with Robert Garcia for his next fight? Will Garcia revive his career or is the underlying problem Chavez himself? :huh http://www.mdmboxing.com/featured-a...r-isnt-the-problem-with-julio-cesar-chavez-jr
Everybody knows at this point that jr has a chronic problem of being a lazy **** with poor work ethic Everybody except Chavez, that is
Jr blamed his bad performance against Martinez on the bad advice of his trainer and his dad. apparently they both were telling him different things to do between rounds and they confused him
Jr. quite simply has one of the ****tiest attitudes towards his craft of any boxer that I have ever seen. He really doesn't want it at all. He should step aside. No trainer can save him
It's very clear that Jr is the problem, though you could blame his surroundings for encouraging his actions. He's been coddled throughout his entire boxing career with favorable matchups, getting the benefit of questionable decisions, and having his weight, training, and drug issues swept under the rug time and time again due to his family name. Ideally that wouldn't influence things for him, but knowing he can get away with about anything can't help his dedication at all.
Exactly, having no set training regime, training in your house instead of the gym and smoking weed were all completely incidental to his performance.
The guy clearly ought to be sitting on his sofa playing computer games, smoking his pot and cracking a few beers and maybe getting a burger every now and then, he has the motivation of a sloth stuck in a rubber ring floating aimlessly around a tropical island or something, he can fight there's no doubt about that but without the spark and drive... what's the point, he's only going to take another beating when he's matched up harder.
I don't think his heart is in it anymore (don't know if it ever was). If he loses his next fight, he should probably hang up his gloves
Cut Chavez some slack he lost to Martinez because he's a far superior boxer and he lost to Fonfara because Fonfara was a huge LHW and Chavez is a fat MW. I'd still give Chavez a decent chance against most MW's that move up to SMW and maybe one or two natural SMW's.
