Do you think they're similar levels of fighter or not? Just trying to get a read on how good of an opponent on paper you think this is compared to what he's had.

Geale was a unified champ at 160, something no one has done since Hopkins. What has Trout ever done?

That should pretty much answer your question.

I think they have different styles and Trout is a southpaw. I don't think we can use the Trout fight as a comparison. Cotto was also training at altitude for the first time, but interestingly he only did his first half of the camp at altitude. That really messed up his fitness.

Trout right now post Canelo cleans out the MW division excluding GGG. The division is that bad.

Meh... MW ain't great, but then neither is Trout. I think he'd settle in somewhere at the low end of top 10.

I think he may be slightly better than Trout and he most likely hits harder as well.

I tend to agree on both counts, although I'm not exactly sure how that plays out for Cotto. He may still, however, be able to perform better against Geale than he did against Trout.

Really??? Then how can you explain Geale shutting out 12-0 a prime Daniel Dawson, but Trout was almost KTFO by a shot to bits version of him.:think Checkmate Wacko.:deal

    Prime Dawson?

Dawson mainly fought as a kick boxer when he fought Geale, he got slightly better when he gave up kick boxing and boxed full time, Trout fought a much better version of Dawson.

Tapia just got brutally stopped by the average punching Michel Soro, Geale could probably take him out too.
