This is just devoid of any intelligence. Pacquiao and Ledwaba were so far and away the best 122 pounders in the world. Nobody knew either of them because they were 122 pounds..... Pacquiao was unknown to basically everybody in boxing until he destroyed Barrera. The only reason anybody knew who Barrera was, was because he was such an extraordinary and rare talent. Fighters at 126 have a hard time getting fame as well.
Mate you have got to see this poster Ra's Al Ghul and his scoring. The man is comedy gold. He scored Jones-Tarver III 118-117 to Jones, he had Khan-Collazo 117-115 to Khan. He is cracking me up.
Neither did Pacquiao. He was the biggest must watch guy in the sport at age 24. It's just harder to do at very low weight classes.
Biggest must watch in the sport at 24? :huh He was 24 for the first MAB fight. He didn't even break 410,000 PPV buys until he fought oscar. 2 weeks before he turned 29. Oscar was by far the biggest draw in the sport back then. It wasn't even close. Floyd, RJJ and Manny were all doing around 350,000 PPV buys back then.
I meant to say that after the first MAB he was the most exciting and biggest much watch from an entertainment point of view. Casuals might have loved Oscar, but as far as who was bringing it, Manny was the biggest must watch guy on TV starting with the first MAB fight.
Must watch means people would be willing to pay for it. Floyd is must watch as he has been #1 PPV for how long now? Your logic is simply bad.
Pacquiao was the most exciting fighter in the mid 2000s. He was the one getting in the ring with prime ATG's and putting them on their ass.
Wtf.... people knew who danny lil red lopez, bobby chacon, azumah, so dont give me that ****" theyre 122 pounders" so nobody knows them"....gtfoh wit that ****, get some heart tinman, its long overdue...
it's amazing. Keep in mind most people had Khan beating Collazo 119-104 or 118-105 yet he had it 117-115. And that's with the 3 knockdowns so he would have had it 118-117 Collazo otherwise. He had Khan-Alexander 118-116. The man has a fetish for even rounds.
If PPV buys represent your "watchability" and entertainment value then Pacquiao is a much more "watchable" fighter today than he was in his prime. And clearly he's not.
Nope... i agree with Ducklerr oscar was still the man in 2003, pac was barely coming up..the first marquez fight is the one who put pac on da map, not barerra
What's your rationale behind that? Wouldn't Pacquiao's biggest win and greatest performance put him on the map more than the first Marquez fight?
