mgm scotland show 12th june

    i was really excited when i heard that mgm had opened a gym in scotland and would be running shows but it looks it will just be the same as the rest. a week till the show at bellahouston sport centre and all of the fighters boxing have no named opponents. hopefully it has just not been updated on boxrec but i was going to buy tickets depending on the opposition and this has put a bit of a downer on the show for me anyway.

    i expected at least for david brophy and john thain to have opponents named because they are 2 fighters that are looking to get into title contention soon and just picking up an opponent who will have no notice or just a journeyman type fighter that they wont learn anything from.

    it will be interesting to see how brian forsyth and ross henderson do, both were national champions at amateur level and brian looked to have a pro style even then. seen gary murray once and he did ok, not heard of mark kerr tbh but i remember gordan brennan, he really is a blast from the past lol has been around for ages but never managed to get anywhere and think he was boxing white collar not long ago?

    anyone on here bought tickets? maybe billy nelson knows the opponent for david brophy or someone else knows more about the fights bill and could share to help me decide if its worth attending the show or not because im 50/50 right now.

    lol I went to University with Ross Henderson sat with him and got the train and bus back to glasgow everyday! He didnt touch boxing back then, (this was back in 2001) then i seen him on Ringside before the commonwealth games and was like "No $hit there is Ross!!" Iv lost all touch with him but i might look into gettin tickets for this and give him a bit of support ... wonder if he remmebers me?! I assume he must !

    Was suprised about the boxing to be honest he came across as a big softie !!

    Yeah defo see about tickets if you dont mind chief i dont do twitter,would be appreciated. He will know me as Derek Robinson or you might have to use the nickname i got "scarlett pimpernell" cause i only made like half of my classes if i was lucky ! If memory serves em right he was from Hamilton i think ??

    you sure it was 2001? that would mean ross was at university when he was 14!! lol he is only 28 now and imo he didnt come across as the university type but it will be even more impressive if he was and at 14. i know he works with his dad doing gates/fences etc

    Really ?? I am 32 so assume he would be about the same? I went to uni with a ross henderson and he looked the double of the ross henderson that was on ringside for the commonwealth? he would have been 18 thro in edinburgh (well the ross i am on about). Haha yeah the ross i knew wouldnt have come across as Uni material either !! The Ross your talking about defo only 28?

    ok so did a quick search and yeah he seems to young to be the same guy i went to Uni with ... strange ... he looks just like him, has the same name and comes from the same area ?? really strange !!

    aye mate, if you look up his commonwealth games profile he was born in 1987. his twitter is @rosshenderson87 too.

    i thought he was only 21/22 when he won his first scottish title about 6 years ago

    maybe that steve guy can find out ... dont ask about the age wouldnt wanna ruin anything but maybe ask if he knows me ?! I coulda swore it was him when i heard him on Sky I even shouted the mrs thro when he was on !!

    Or maybe i should book an appnt with the doctors !!

    emmm dont know how to say this but im a knob !! it was Ross Stirling i went with not Henderson !!

    I really recognise that Ross Henderson tho I have defo met him afore or must have worked with him or something !! arrghhh cant think !

    Yup Billy cheers I originally got him mixed up with someone else i went to Uni with like a fookin PLUM !!!

    Iv defo met Henderson afore tho just cant figure out where and how !! I must have worked with at somepoint or that god knows !!

    You worked with him afore Billy ?
