Hardest Puncher of All Time?

Probably somebody nobody will ever mention. Hard punching doesn't necessarily mean successful i.e. Courage Tshabalala.

Pound / pound Hamed was impressive. Without huge punching power in both hands Hamed never would have amounted to much.

Foreman never had speed to begin with. Neither did Rocky Marciano and Archie Moore. All three are up there among the greatest punchers of all time.

 

The hardest I've ever seen are maybe Shavers or Julian Jackson. Archie Moore has to be considered one of the hardest as well.

Have you seen Archie Moore box before age 35 no you haven't so maybe he did have speed in his early career dumb ass

 

I would change the word "strength" to mass.

 

I don't care what you would do this is how experts calculate power and I follow what experts say not some dope off the internet

 

Young Foreman had more speed, but less weight, so to some extent they counter balance, but I would say the loss of speed from going from young to old, was greater than the advantage of having more weight behind his punches. So I would say young Foreman hit harder than old Foreman. But someone else mentioned technique, in his case they are likely the same, but a non boxer isn't gong to deliver his punches with the same efficiency as a boxer. All things being equal the straighter the punch the less energy being wasted.

Foreman is proof you don't need speed to hit hard.

 

Force (power) is equal to Mass multiplied by Acceleration (speed).

F = ma

Its a very basic scientific equation and it makes perfect sense if you apply it in a punching power. Most of the heavier weight class fighters get tremendous power because of their large mass(m). While smaller weight class fighters may not have the same mass as the heavyweights but their acceleration(a) or speed is high enough to result in a relatively as the heavyweights but their acceleration(a) or speed is high enough to result in a relatively high force(F). To sum things up:

Heavier Fighters Force(F) = Large Mass(m) x Average Acceleration(a)

Smaller Fighters Force(F) = Low Mass(m) x Superior Acceleration(a).

So come to think of it Muhammad Ali had quite a strong punching power cause his arms and body wasn't just massive but also his hand speed was something extraordinary for a heavyweight.
