I would bet you that freddie expected floyd to succumb to mannys punches by at aleast round 4. even if that means landing one single power shot at a time. Nope. :good
While FLoyd does have a solid chin, I think where Roach really went wrong was that he was under the impressions for YEARS that FLoyd's legs were shot. Pacman could've done well if he was fighting a stationary target. Unfortunately for him, Floyd doesn't fight in that manner. All that match showed was that Floyd has a lot left in the tank, his footwork was the best I've seen from him since he signed his Showtime contract.
Excusequiao never hurt Floyd. Floyd always covers up like that on the ropes. Maidana, Mosley, Corley hurt Floyd. Excusequiao hit Floyd with a gnat bite.
This..... There is no way the multi award winning trainer of the year and the FOTD, who had 6 years to work on this game plan, could have realized that Floyds chin was certified granite. People get master degrees from colleges in 6-7 years, all they had to do was beat one featherfisted, two bad hands, two bad shoulders, legs damn near shot, 40 year old man. And they couldn't do it. It had to be the chin that threw them off
From what I saw Roach was awful on the night, he looked so confused, had no real fight changing ideas. Roach was banging on for 5 years that he had the perfect gameplan and when his time came he couldn't get Pacquiao to execute it. The fact he has gone so quiet recently suggests he is still confused
Pac hurt Floyd. Pac countered the !@%! out of Floyd. Floyd ran most of the night. Floyd was called a coward by his father in the corner. 7-5 Pacquiao
This. :deal He hurt him, only once, but it wasn't significant. Maidana and Mosley hurt him way more. A couple of other shots Pac landed only got Floyd's attention and he did the smart thing by covering up and/or clinching. I agree.
I agree with the degree of hurt on Floyd. Hurting someone means they're about to topple. Nothing Pac landed ever came close. He got a blind counter in but far from hurtful. When Mosley rocked Floyd you could see his legs buckled. That never happened in the May 2nd fight. It's a wishful attempt at a moral victory for Excusequiao fans.
