Daniel Geale starved his way down to 157 pounds. There's no other way to describe it. In the final 24 hours he had no food whatsoever.

Geale spent the final 36 hours before weigh in taking hot baths with epsom salts, chewing gum, very limited food and sips of water. It's a wonder he didn't pass out on the scales.

F*cking ridiculous a career middleweight should have to starve himself down to 157 pounds to contest the 160 pound limit middleweight title.

How Geale will come up 24 hours after a preparation like that is anyone's guess?

The difference is Cotto is 5ft 7 and junior middleweight is his natural weight. His body is used to being there and getting there wouldn't have posed any problems. He probably would have preferred to come in heavier.

Geale on the other hand hasn't been 157 pounds in years and years, and only got there by starving and totally dehydrating himself. Hardly the ideal preparation.

i was being sarcastic. even so, sulaiman wants cotto to fight canelo next and is trying to bypass triple G to make it happen.

The 157 pound limit imposed on Geale for a middleweight title fight is horrible, but true.

Perfect on paper, but the reality is Cotto won't fight GGG.

Cotto would retire or return to junior middleweight to ensure that never happens, and who could really blame him? As soon as GGG caught up with him he'd put him into la la land.

Nah GGG has been a mandatory and most deserving challenger for how long since Martinez was the champ.. If Canelo - Cotto came first it should have happened now instead of this joke fight the Diva prevented the Canelo fight and should now fight GGG and if he wins make another optional against Canelo after as this fight against Geale is an optional defence and meaningless.

Cotto has been avoiding GGG and will continue to do so. That much is obvious.

I think this further proves that Cotto isn't a middleweight, and instead of people looking way too deep into it, they should give him a little props for fighting middleweights when he isn't one.

Yes, it's a catchweight, but half of the people on here were proclaiming Geale via KO or UD for weeks, now that we are one day away, not we are looking for way out.

Just enjoy the fight, and be glad that Cotto is willing to fight at middleweight, yes even at catchweight. If you want to be mad, be mad at Geale, he wasn't forced to sign it.... he did so willingly.
