Bold statement. In today's ESPN Boxing Chat, Dan says that there is 0% chance there will be a Mayweather/Cotto fight in September. Canelo/Cotto is pretty much agreed upon in principal. Cotto just has to get past Geale tomorrow. Garcia is fighting Malignaggi in August(lol). Thurman is fighting Collazo in July. Pacquiao is recovering from shoulder injury. Marquez is recovering from a knee injury. Golovkin is absurd, and Brook is unknown. All in all, Dan said that Mayweather/Khan will be the likely fight for September. He also estimates the fight will do 800,000K PPV buys (which is considerably less than the Maidana 2 fight). Khan didn't do any favors with his performance against Algieri and ****ing off British fans by acting like a diva and throwing his trainer under the bus. I thought the fight would do just over 1 million but falling under wouldn't surprise me. 800,000 is really low though. Do you guys agree with Fat Dan? How much PPV do you think it'll get?
That's about right. After Floyd dispatched of the "supposed" #2 with ease, will the casuals even care? There's nobody that can beat Floyd even at his past prime age. As Paulie said, easiest money you can make by betting on Floyd. Paulie will bet on Floyd again despite him saying Khan will be a challenge for Floyd.
He will have to stack that undercard and take a pay cut. The unfortunate part is that all of Al big name fighters have fights lined up already. No fight from Floyd in Sept. I'll bet a stack on that.:boxing2
More like, After Floyd barely threw a punch against Manny whom would pay to see him play defense for 12 rounds.
Have fans wised up to this clown and his wack ass PPV's or wil there still be suckers supporting his farces ? I'm sure even if it bombs they numbers will be exaggerated like the Maidana rematch
They should put it on NBC in prime time on a Thursday or Friday night. Floyd needs to win fans over again. Stage a three-hour show. Sell advertising for a half-million a commercial. Get about 10-15 million viewers. Give Mayweather half the commercial sales for the whole show. Mayweather-Khan on NBC in prime time on a weekday night would be hugely successful. And 10 or 15 million viewers would help boost his next PPV if Mayweather wants to keep fighting. An 800,000 buy PPV wouldn't.
Yall are worrying about nothing. Floyd is guaranteed his money and this is his last fight. If he fights another one, it'll be against Pacquiao. He doesn't need to worry about his future ppv numbers.
