At least he's honest, I hope Cotto simply admits these tactics affected the fight and it takes a lot of shine off it, 'he struggled with the catchweight so I looked better than I would've done if he was allowed to come in at his usual weight' and if Geale does well 'well I had him drained yet he still caused me trouble and I'd have been in danger if I hadn't made him cut weight'. Mayweather got tons of **** for the Canelo extra pounds when he already struggled making the limit and also the Marquez fight, so why shouldn't Cotto? I believe Cotto beats Geale anyway just like Canelo showed the weight wasn't a factor in how he fought that fight so it's all a mute point but it's the principle. Pac vs Oscar is one of the more extreme ones I've seen.
That would be a fair thing of him to say. If he said that after his supposed future win I wouldnt really have a problem with it. What I sort of have a problem with is it going on during a fight for the lineal title. Id say most would agree that the best fighter isnt always the lineal holder, but maybe Im just a little OS about it. I feel the title should be more respected.
