Be honest.. Did Wilder prove you wrong about him in Stiverne fight?

No because who the hell has stiverne ever beat ?

 

I'm a little more sold onto him now, especially that he showed he can box and not rely on his wild power punches when his opponent is still there after round 4

I still think he's not as good as some on here think, I may be wrong though

 

He can box a little bit, but he was lucky Stiverne couldn't get into range otherwise it would have been lights out.

What I like about Wilder is when he thinks he has an opponent hurt he goes all in, that will do for most heavyweights. Stiverne was just extra durable.

 

He didnt take but a handful of punches in the Stiverne fight.

And never 2 in succession.

Let's not fool ourselves into thinking he's on par with Wach in terms of punch resistance. atsch

He did prove he's got good footwork vs a plodder. He did prove he can be disciplined enough not to lose control of distance and give away his height and reach advantages.

However, if someone taught him how to fight inside, he would be giving away his natural advantages of speed and size. Futch would end up KILLING Deontay Wilder before he ever stepped into the ring trying to teach him to throw his hieght, reach and speed away.

Imagine Wilder sparring Oliver McCall and not being allowed to stay 6 ft away from McCall for the entirety of the sparring session.

He did, I didn't think he could box from distance and take an average punch. He can obviously box and while there's still a question mark, his chin is definetly not as bad as Price's or Seth Mitchell's.

 

Well let's not get hasty MacCall was an era before him for now ..He's decent at best I think Jennings would beat him now ..As far as Futch goes teaching a big guy like that to fight on the inside would only benifit him..In order to beat Wilder you will have to get on the inside ..Whats his plan B when he loses range ..

Indeed. I love how beating Stiverne has somehow erased the fact that Wilder's "opposition" from the start of his career were the most talentless tomato cans his management could find. And somehow beating an ailing Bermane Stiverne - who wasn't that good healthy - changes this?

No way. Wilder's fragile mandible is still as shaky as ever, ready to be shattered into a million pieces by the first solid shot landed by a decent HW at the top of their game. Either Povetkin or Klitschko would expose this fraud, brutally.

Wilder was a little bit better than I expected him to be. But he is still a fraud with a glass jaw and it will be shattered by Povetkin or even Molina. Stiverne was worse than I thought he would be, his counter punching style was ineffective vs Wilder.

Nah there's nothing impressive about avoiding the slowest footed heavyweight belt holder in history

 

I admitted at the time that he proved something. It is not all that much of a victory beating a guy who was rolled by Demetrice King. Stiverne gets fat and then can't fight. But it was a title victory.

With his opponent choice for his first defense, I take it all back. He is a bum who beats carnival fat men, crash test dummies, and paid divers, and still tastes canvas doing it.

Wladdy would beat Wilder and Stiverne on the same night. For that matter, so would Povetkin.
